If the EPA approval is just before Christmas, then a Maverick order will be a nice Christmas gift. I would just love to have a build date.Good question. I'm thinking it's the date the EPA promised Ford the process would be complete. So it's a projected date. It could be based on a bureaucratic process (i.e. the EPA issues certifications on the 2nd Wednesday of each month).
Our source at Ford has just confirmed the OKTB (ok-to-buy) date for the Maverick Hybrid is December 8, 2021, due to the emission certification delay. This info originates directly from Hermosillo plant.
It remains to be seen if this date holds, but we should be less than two months away from the first saleable hybrid Mavericks.
As for EPA MPG release for the Hybrid Maverick, the source isn't 100% certain, but thinks that it should also be released on the same date.
Yeah, and in the present situation I doubt Ford wants to create any more demand for a product they can't deliver for months. No reason to add to the demand until they can be sure to deliver them in a reasonable amount of time (which for most folks is probably a couple of months at most). Few really want to order a vehicle that may not be in their hands for 6 months or more.Ford is still not really advertising it
Quickest shipment option might be for 20-30 of us who are built to charter a 747 to pick up a load at nearest airport from plant, find a dealer in a town with an international airport (=port of entry with customs to collect $$$ and release for import). Offer dealer 2% off invoice and NO transportation fee for 20-30 sales. Depending ADM's saved + $$ for filming rights maybe not cost anything and get our mavs on 10/9/21!I live in Tucson so it's only a few hours North of the factory, to save time I'll met my Maverick at the border!![]()

Or not!!I believe tomorrow they are scheduling for build week of 11/29 and 12/6, so the timing may be perfect for hybrid owners to start getting build notifications.

Yah it could be a day before the predicted OKTB like Ecoboost was or it could get dragged into 2022 by EPAthis date isn’t correct . There has been no date set yet .
What tax break? (I'm just wondering if I am missing something.)And I need the tax break.
As of right now, no hybrid qualifies for the tax break. Pure EVs only. What tax break? (I'm just wondering if I am missing something.)
I will write the truck off.....tax breakWhat tax break? (I'm just wondering if I am missing something.)
PHEV qualify too. Got to have a plug port. (plugin hybrid). my jeep qualifies, my ford does notAs of right now, no hybrid qualifies for the tax break. Pure EVs only.
I'm sure it won't. It still bugs me that I'm paying such a high delivery cost for a vehicle that being made just down the road! Of course those getting delivery Maine, Alaska and Hawaii are getting a deal! So there's the balance to the universe!Probably never happen at any automobile factory.....Ford is counting on the profit they make from shipping charges as part of the overall profit they make on the vehicle.
