Gf is pushing for looking elsewhere
I feel ya. My partner pushed for getting a truck now.

We actually did spot a Maverick XL 2.0L sitting at a local dealer lot last week. We would have liked driving it.

Im not in dire need but definitely wanted a truck this fall and know my current vehicles value is depreciating pretty quickly.
I checked the value of my 2019 Fusion on Kelly Blue Book and it is worth more now than it was a month ago. As long as the inventory of later model cars stays low the value will hold or perhaps get higher. If I am not going to get it until late December I would just as soon wait until after the first of the year because here in Missouri property taxes are based on what you own on Jan.1.

I hear ya on the current vehicle depreciation. Longer wait=more miles=more chance at damages. Not to mention the fact that used car values are inevitably going to settle down. I'd love to be able to trade mine while values are really high.

Put your foot down, tell her you are the man and king of your castle!
Or "accidentally" leave paper on desk which will appear that you are preparing an add = "wanted (hair color, height range, etc) GF who will wait a few months for a new maverick......".

A new-to-me truck is sitting in the driveway now, and I talked to my dealer's sales manager about cancelling. They're OK with me cancelling my order anytime. So I'm holding onto the Maverick as a backup plan.

By the time my doubly constrained Hybrid + Lux is built, I may need yet another new truck.

To those who are concerned about the hybrid delays making you incur more miles on your existing vehicle, prepare to feel better:

MY 2016 HYUNDAI SONATA JUST TURNED OVER 150,000 MILES!!

My daily driver, a long-in-the-tooth Volvo has 260000, my fingers are crossed that there are no major problems until my hybrid gets here. C'mon Swede's, do your thing!

Is anyone else crushed by the news for the hybrid OKTB? Had high hopes for getting before thanksgiving as mine was 9/20 production week. Now knowing I might now get it until the new year is tough. Gf is pushing for looking elsewhere
I have not looked at all the fussy details, but if you don't go for the hybrid, the Maverick and the Santa Cruz look much closer to me.
