The poverty-spec 23 Hybrid comes with only a cigarette lighter power point for the rear seats, located in the back of the center arm rest console. I prefer to have USB ports, and this Amazon dual USB-A port has both a power button and a voltage indicator, so it should do the trick.

The cover is quite deep, and it has six tabs that hold it in place.

Before you can pull it back and off, however, you need to remove two 10mm bolts, one on each side down low. Push both front seats all the way forward to make removal easier.

Inside that cover is a lot of empty space on the XL, probably inhabited by the various plugs available on higher trims and more options. The pass through on the bottom has only a single wire on the XL, and inside is where the inverter lives on higher trims.

Using your favorite wire tap and splice technique, add the USB wiring.

I've seen others use components in the bed cubby also that have a voltage display and I've wondered how that doesn't run down the battery. Wilbur - Does the display stay on all the time? Seems like plenty of deep sleep complaints being posted and any extra draw wouldn't help.

I had the exact same concern, which is why I chose this particular port.

This port has a power on / power off switch, and the default is "power off". Therefore when the truck turns off, and eventually all the electrical inside the cabin turns off, the port defaults to off.

The display clearly goes dark once the cabin power is off. I have also probed it twice, and it does seem to operate in this way.

The only way for it to power up is to depress the small button on the right side of the face, which operates the power on function. It only powers up when the cabin has power, after the truck is turned on.

Of course, the display has also shown the same thing as the multimeter, but I like to trust but verify, and indeed, all power goes off when the source power is down according to the multimeter.

That’s strange my 2023 hybrid came with 1 usb c and 1 usb a ports in the rear in addition to the 110v I added

Not bragging I just thought they all came with usb ports in the rear. 🤷
I am just pulling your leg. I ordered my truck "poverty spec", with only the 360 and a hitch, nothing else, in XL trim.

Bare bones is what I got, and that trim level gives an owner some tasks to do in order to make it more livable.

I am just pulling your leg. I ordered my truck "poverty spec", with only the 360 and a hitch, nothing else, in XL trim.

Bare bones is what I got, and that trim level gives an owner some tasks to do in order to make it more livable.
HaHaHa! I ordered the same truck, part of the reason was I looked forward to doing some mod's!

I guess when you order the 120v outlet, you automatically get the USB and type c outlets too.

I had one in my van, never had an issue with it running the battery down even with the socket live 24/7. Used every week at least though. I use it in front of the Maverick now. It's a twin socket adaptor.

Lol…. Poverty spec. I ordered the same. Hybrid, hitch, 360. XLT is $2K for what amounts to nicer wheels and orange accents inside. They should rename the XLT to “2K wheel package”

Agreed. Nothing much of value in the XLT upgrade. Aluminum wheels, but not the ones I wanted.

One of the reasons it was going to be one of the only things I added to my order, but they got rid of it as an option for MY24! Still considering whether I can get the dealership or someone to install it, or possibly learn some electrical skills and attempt it myself...
