I keep my vehicles for a long time. This should prevent oxidation. And i get tired of waxing! :) That said, this is my retirement vehicle.
Mine is also going to be my retirement vehicle, when it gets here anyways.

My baby just got ceramic coating; the mirror shot says it all! They took tons of photos throughout the process. The Alto Blue color changing properties are so much more obvious. Taylor does awesome work. Thank you Fine Touch Detailing! I'm not sure if it is appropriate to share, but they did such a fantastic job. Very sharp! Love that color. Getting my Atlas Blue XLT Tremor done when it comes in around 12/1 according to my shipping notification. Hoping it helps keep it cleaner this winter with salt & winter grim.

I've had my Cayenne Pepper red Tremor for a week. Did a ceramic coat on my last car but after 5 years on door dings and misc scratches didn't think worth it to do it again on the Tremor. Going to be parked outside most of the time

Sweet ride. After 9 months of bugs sticking and quick washing 1-2 times a month, I finally did a good cleaning and applied a coating. I ended up using Chemical Guys Max Coat wheel guard. Very glossy and works fine on the paint or wheels. That's $25 bucks and some sweat. Agree, I 'aint spending $500+ bucks on ceramic for Maverick. Ill save ceramic for my Cadillac Brougham d'Elegance :).

Your truck looks great! My first Maverick was a 2022 Alto Blue xlt. This time it's going to be a 2024 hot pepper red Lariat. I am planning on having the protective coating (hood and fenders). The dealer said they have a guy who can install on the whole truck. Has anyone done this or heard of anyone doing the whole vehicle? Good idea? Bad idea? If I only do the good and fenders can I still do the ceramic coating? I'm planning on having this one for a long time and I want to keep it looking good.

I have the protection on front hood and bumper. Its been a great decision. I can definitely notice things kind of stain the plastic so I would personally not do thw whole truck as its just a plastic coating. It has saved me from it chipping the heck out of my hood.

Any idea what types of things are staining the plastic? I thought it was kind of odd when she told me about doing the whole truck. I live in Arizona and I'm not quite sure what the protective film would look like after 3 or 4 years. Nothing lasts long here. The sun deteriorates everything. I didn't have the film on my first Maverick and after just six months, I had all kinds of chips on the hood and fenders. It doesn't help with al of the constant construction and road work with no end in sight.

Personally, I'd never do just parts of the vehicle...lower fenders, hood (bugs and sand) and roof (mostly heat abuse, and hard to reach when washing) can get most of the abuse...especially lower fenders where water/dirt from tires thrown junk (dirty water and mud) up on the paint. Maverick was my 5th vehicle to ceramic coat. Roof is the hardest work on the Maverick since you have to work off a ladder. Critical to have a lot of "light" on the pain when apply ceramic coating. My Cayman S was done 5 yrs ago and is still beading like a duck's back.

The pros may know better or have a secret but every ceramic coating I've seen and used requires 24 hours of drying time to "set up" without water of any kind...if the CC shops don't have the facilities to store till the Cermaic Coating totally dries I'd look elsewhere. Applied C Coating is sticky for 6 to 10 hours until the chemical reaction makes it hard....at least the five I've used.

Washing - I normally rinse with garden hose just before driving somewhere...driving blows off the standing water....If not driving I use a leaf blower. If there's dirt, mud thrown up on the fenders/paint highly recommend only use "ceramic coating SOAP". This soap helps refresh the ceramic coating, soap like DAWN disk washing soap will quickly degrade the ceramic coating or a wax job. A lot of professional detailers use DAWN soap to decontaminate paint before applying a ceramic coating or wax job.

If truck is stored out doors it's still worth ceramic coating but just will not last as long.

DIY ceramic coatings is not rocket science but is (for the Maverick) 7-8 hours of hard work for one person but anyone can follow the directions.
