Looks enticing. This has been asked from members ever since the Maverick came out. Not that I'll be getting one but it is cool to see the Maverick lineup expand. I'm sure just like everything else in this world, expect a big price hike, especially being a performance model. I'm guessing $45,000?

Look at my avatar, if a 19 year old with too much red hair could drop a 428 CJ in a clapped out 72 F-150 then Ford can squeeze the 2.7 into a Maverick. Trouble is, that bugger will set you back $50,000 😳. Have to sell my 19 F-150 and a tractor, probably not happening.

meh I see black wheels and a tail pipe with a funny hook shape and a few cameras....

however, if you look at the 6th photo closely.... I mean really look at it... you'll conclude there is no way you can tell if the navy pier plastic is gone, the rear seat is split fold, or if it has Sync 4 and a larger entertainment screen.....

Ford's 2.7EB is a V6, accept the fact that is never happening in a Maverick!
The maverick has a huge and spacious engine bay compared to a lot of other modern cars. So never say never. I know, I know, a more powerful 2.0 or even a 2.3 would be the easy way to do this.

But if Ford made the effort to put a 2.7 into this, it would instantly turn the maverick into one of the most iconic mini trucks of all time. Ford is making 500hp EV SUVs, Baja off-road trucks, and 300k mustang super cars, they're living in excess right now, and I'm all for it. Let's hope they keep it up with whatever this is.

I'm willing to bet... your money that it happens.
I bet you would. But Ford is not putting the 2.7 in the Maverick. Why would anyone buy a Ranger Raptor then?

Yep, I saw that. But if you look at the side mirrors, you will see the camera bumps, indicating it will have 360 cameras.
Nice catch! Now we know where all of the recalled 360 cameras from the Explorers are going to end in :ROFLMAO:

Well it sure did happen to my boy’s Fusion Sport.
And this has what to do with the Maverick platform?

Why not, there are few people try to out a 5.0 in a Maverick. Just like the Grabber back in the day.

So a 2.7L is very reasonable.
Reasonable for a custom builder? Perhaps. Reasonable for OEM mass production? NO.

The maverick has a huge and spacious engine bay compared to a lot of other modern cars. So never say never. I know, I know, a more powerful 2.0 or even a 2.3 would be the easy way to do this.

It's not just an engine/engine bay question. It's platform packaging.

The only chance this could happen would be at the next Maverick FMC, and even then it's very unlikely.
