Got my 23 hybrid last week and while installing bed cover I noticed this in the left rear wheel well. I'm afraid to pull it completely off as it feels like it's attached to something. Does everyone have it or was it left my mistake at the factory? TIA

Emergency release for the fuel door (not a mistake from factory)

Always thought this kind of defeats the purpose of a locking fuel door.
Maybe could have put it in the bed cubby?

LOL, a relatively high percentage of Maverick owners on this Forum don't know what it is (as evidenced by the continued questions), do you believe that most of the general population knows what it is?

Fuel door locks for safety and emissions, not theft prevention.
Not all trims have the bed cubby.

Well I feel ripped off! I didn’t get one 😡
I think I'm picking up on your sarcasm....but for us EBs we have the spring release fuel door and the MavBrids are pressurized if I'm not mistaken and they get a fancy release button in the interior.

Maybe 😉, we have a C-Max that has the spring loaded door. Probably older generation technology.
