Tap into the cargo or interior lights so it lights up when you open the doors. I did this but not with a projector (I like the idea)

So I’ve seen other actuators online and it seems like a generic part for ford trucks since 2015 and go for $60 forOEM. Saw an aftermarket on amazon for $35. I’m gonna give it a shot see how that goes.

I looked at mounting some on the mirror but didn’t feel like removing the door panels and fishing thru the wire grommet on the door. With this method tho, the light stays under the doors even if you open the front or rear door. It like you said, spot lights would be great too

The lights have two mounting holes and come with a rubber pad if needed. On the side skirt, I tapped a 10-32 hole on one side, on the other there is a hole on the truck so I used a nut and 10-32 screw to fasten it to the plastic skirt. They’re about 3” long

All the holes are factory tapped

Got my truck last week of June and got a bedrug right after. I wanted the rail system but personally don’t think it’s worth the cost so I bough some hooks instead. As I’m poking thru the bedrug it tripped me out as to why the holes are not equidistant from each other. My OCD does not like this 😂...
