The Ford battery that was originally working well that I referenced started to go bad after about six months. I gave up on them replacing it with another crappy Motorcraft battery so I bought a Diehard Gold battery and installed it myself. Haven't had an issue in a few months now and everything works like a real truck should. Hope it stays that way for at least the normal useful life that a battery should last.
So are you saying that your battery died multiple times with the OEM battery? If so, how many times?

My history with the 12v battery is:
1. Original Motorcraft battery - defective. Dealership replaced after about five months of us dealing with problems and jumping quite a bit.
2. Second Motorcraft battery - worked okay for about six months with having to jump it now and then, but then literally was to the point that we had to jump it EVERY time we turned the truck off. Not good when you were doing multiple stops around town. Ford engineers told dealership to replace battery.
3. Third Motorcraft battery - worked fine for about five months and then that battery shit the bed.

We have now been on the current Diehard for about 2-3 months and never a problem. I hope we can keep it going for what you expect a battery to normally last. If I have to keep outlaying $200 or so in less than a year for new batteries I won't be a happy camper, because then it is something definitely wrong with Ford's technology.

Thank you for elaborating. I currently have a lemon claim in process on my maverick because of my dead battery issues. The dealership has been unable to find the source of the problem. My original battery tested bad and was replaced, but my second battery has been passing their tests even though it has died on me 3 times. Did your batteries ever pass the tests even though your truck was dying?

Your experience gives me hope that I can solve my issue with an aftermarket battery, but maybe it’s too soon to know for sure. I’m so torn about whether or not I should proceed with the lemon route, because I don’t want to get stuck with a brand new car with electrical issues that kills batteries (in the event that the issue is NOT just the battery).

Early on, before the battery started dying every time the truck was turned off, it was likely testing okay. I say likely since I didn't test it often. By the time I was calling it quits on the third and final Motorcraft battery, yes, it was testing poorly. Best wishes no matter which route you go, my friend. I wouldn't want to get rid of the Mav if possible since it is a great truck when it is running well, like ours is now.

I haven’t even had my Hybrid Maverick for a month and already the 12V battery is an issue. Parked at the airport for two weeks and got a message on the Ford Pass App that the truck has gone into “preservation mode”

Maybe we should post our battery info from the label, and see if those having the issues are from the same batch of batteries? I've seen intermittent sleep & conservation messages since Labor Day weekend, with no rhyme or reason. Sometimes its after I've actually driven more, other times when I haven't driven much. - Although I have a hunch it relates to how I lock the truck, as posted in another thread.

Be interesting if all the those with the issue are from the same lot of batteries.

Add me to the list of 12v Ecoboost battery failures. I went to get in my truck and had ZERO power. No lights, no locks, nothing. Lucked out and was able to get enough charge on the battery to get it started and drive to the dealer. After failing the Ford Service Dept. tester. Battery was testing at 300CCA and the battery is rated at 760CCA. They replaced it with a new none AGM 760CCA battery. I took ownership of my Maverick on 2/18/2022.

It's not the battery itself, but shorts within the wiring harness of the vehicle causing a parasitic drain.

If there is one poor solder connection near the ECM fuse under the hood which ford issued a TSB for, you can bet there are plenty of other areas on the car with a bad solder connection which may or may not be causing issues and parasitic drains yet and WILL get worse over time.

Ford has no interest in researching it or fixing it and this will probably go down as one of the top 10 epic failures on vehicles.
Could be the case....let hope its not.
Type in ford deep sleep in google and unfortunately its not just the Mavericks.

Mine started acting up after I drove it for 80 miles. Received the notification 2 days after it sitting that the remote feature was disabled to preserve battery. Drove it home 2 days later. Next day same thing. Then nothing. 2 weeks later, this past Monday, same thing. Now every morning same thing. Plus yesterday the heated steering wheel wasn’t working. Today my lights didn’t turn on when I opened the door but the steering wheel worked. Then my lights were flickering on the dash as if it was dark/light out for 3 mins straight. Then out it in sport mode and drove the 7 miles of my 8 mile commute. Waiting to see if my truck starts when I go to leave work. 4K miles on my truck this week. So annoying. Never had problems like this in any other car. I have owned all VWs. Got my first American car. Nothing but dumb problems.

My 22 Hybrid XLT had the deep sleep mode issue come on and my Maverick ended up eventually dead and needed jumped to start.
Took my truck to the Ford Dealer and they replaced the 12V under seat battery and it seems to have fixed it. Truck had under 500 miles.

My dads 2023 Maverick XLT
Hybrid around 3k miles had the same exact symptoms. Deep sleep mode and eventually a dead truck that we had to Jump start.
Took it to the Ford Dealer and they replaced the battery (saying bad cell) and flashed the BCM I believe is what they said.
His truck seems to be fixed.

Does the EB share the same battery as the Hybrid? Are you EB guys/gals having your 12V battery turn out to be bad from the factory?
What are the odds that’s we both had bad under seat 12V batteries on 2 different year mavericks?
Seems super odd tbh. I’ve not seen car batteries go bad like this in my lifetime. Especially on a brand new vehicle.
Makes me wonder and hope that it’s not more than a bad battery.
Could there be something going on that could ruin a battery going on with the truck or a design flaw?
Or is it more likely that the batteries were bad from the factory?
🤓 I had a 2012 Prius until a year ago. Original factory auxiliary 12vdc battery lasted about 6 years. Two replacement aux batteries only lasted like year or so. I figured that batteries shelved at dealership. Factory may have stocked piled batteries as well. Side bar: Four year warranty not honored by dealership because I replaced battery. Kind of a catch 22. Just got to hope jump will get you back to dealership.

No mechanic me, but this sounds a lot like a bad connection. The Maverick has had issues with a lousy crimp job on the connector to the battery. I'd look there first if you haven't already.

Dealer is telling me the auto start/stop does not work because my battery is weak because I don't drive it a lot. So after I drive a half hour or hour the battery should be charged and the feature still does not work. Have not had any issues starting the truck or with any other features.

Today they charged the battery and reset the BMS so will see if the feature keeps working. I suspect I got one of the bad batteries.
