Merry Christmas Mavericks! So to follow up on my post from Thanksgiving, here goes. A week after all the dash lights (idiot lights, from back in the day) came on and I had no auto start/stop, no hill accent, no auto high beams, no accident avoidance, no drive modes, and a service advance trac warning. I replaced the battery a week later with a Walmart AGM battery. Reset the battery as instructed in the owners manual. No change at all. All dash lights on .....until December 18th , almost exactly a month later . Left work, pulled out of the parking lot on to the highway and the steering felt easier ( like it was before this happened) . Looked down, and all lights are off ??? Drove the truck every day this past week, work and back , no issues at all . Everything is back to normal. I can change drive modes, accident avoidance works, auto headlights work, absolutely no warnings at all ! Christmas miracle???? I go in to the dealership for an oil change in 1200 miles, so I'll ask them for their thoughts. Any ideas from you guys ???

My truck has gone through two Motorcraft batteries in less than two years. They're absolute trash.

I've been running a $125 Chinese AGM battery for three weeks and I've had no issues. I've been monitoring the state of charge and the amps that the alternator will push to it, and it's charging significantly faster than the EFB Ford battery.

I have EFB and I am now wondering if an AGM battery will solve my problems. Right now I am using my NOCO 5 once a week so the discharge level does not fall below 50%.

So you bought your own battery instead of having Ford buy one for you under warranty?

I continue to have 12 volt battery issues, rapid discharge if my Maverick is not driven daily. Voltage fluctuations and two instances of totally dead Maverick, had it towed to dealer who replaced the 12 volt battery and reset the PCM, but one week later it happened again. This time I jumped it and took it back to dealer for three day stay and the dealer reported no problems found. Opened a customer support case with Ford, so they are following the situation. I do not feel we should pay for our own replacement battery when under warranty, truck is only 6 months old 5000 miles. I am aware that there are many issues with 12 volt battery and recharge system with multiple manufacturers and both hybrid and electric vehicles. Just another sign that we are not ready to adopt electrified vehicles until manufacturers permanently address these problems.

Good morning! Are you still experiencing this battery concern? If so, I would like to look into it on my end. Please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your Ford dealer to get started.

JDTexas, it is interesting your battery tester shows 447 CCA for your battery and it is rated at 400 CCA. I have the same battery tester and it also shows the actual CCA higher than the battery is rated. I am wondering why...battery tester issue?

I had similar results when I tested mine. Tests good, higher than rated CCA even, but the main issue is the voltage just drops precipitously with the key off load.

The CCA rating tells you how many amps a given 12-volts battery may support for 30 seconds at 0°F (-18°C) before the voltage drops to at least 7.2 volts per cell.
In order to test CCA first put the battery in your freezer overnight.

So, the light/warnings are back on . I've narrowed it down to the rain. Something is getting wet that wasn't before. When they first went on, it was raining, then after a month, went off. Now , yesterday (12/27) IG was raining again, and the lights/warnings came back on.

Also now today, 12/28....the FordPass app says no active alerts ???? But those same lights as before are all lit up ? FordPass app had the alerts last time ?????
