This EV concept addresses many items discussed here:
— all electric
— crew cab with dimensions roughly equal to the Maverick
— a built in bed extender to reach 6 feet
— a cabin pass through with folding rear seat to reach 8 feet
— more spacious cabin dimensions (hopefully losing the yoke steering wheel if produced)

Well, beauty is in the eyes of the beer holder. I do like some of the bed ideas, that tailgate is rad! But the design seems so angular and futuristic. Guess I'm old school about what I think a truck should look like.

Has Toyota revealed what the estimated range is for the EPU?

I want the bed passthrough, but make the rear seat removable vs flip up. Every vehicle with flip up seats like that seems a 1/2 measure. Literally only gaining 1/2 the available space. I'll go the extra mile and just remove them.

I like the truck, it’s a shame there isn’t any place to recharge it in North America

The Maverick fanboys will predictably hate this. Everyone else will line up around the block, clamoring to buy it at any price. Like they already do for the Tacoma. If Toyota doesn't build a BEV trucklet like this, somebody else surely will. GM was floating around a 2-door BEV trucklet a few months back. BEVs totally open up the design book for small trucks - which used to be hard because of CAFE wheelbase-derived perverse incentives.

I'd drop $40K to $50K on EPU in a heartbeat. If built in the NAFTA area, you can now get $7,500 of that back at purchase time - right out of the tax pockets of the ICE forever trolls, which is frosting on the cake. And no gasoline for life, and essentially zero ICE maintenance - yea, I'll pay more for that.

I like it. Obviously being a concept, a lot of stuff will change. I am a Rivian fan, so this is right up my alley. Just can't afford a Rivian. I can't wait to see what the Rivian R2 series looks like as well.

WTH is Motor Trend smoking? When I see that interior, the last thing I think is, "wow, that looks like a Maverick."

and what's with the old-school Office Depot 'inbox' on the dashboard? That looks goofy to me.
Overall, I like the exterior design.

Still waiting to see an EV pickup that will retail for sub $60k - we're still a long way off, but things like this might help. Design is cool, seems pretty functional (aside from the stupid yoke), but definitely would be interested in drivetrain/battery details. Fortunately, if all goes well, I'm 7-8 years away from needing to buy anything other than what I have, so I can wait!

I would jump into, I just want a small electric pickup truck, the smallest the best for me as long is 4 doors ,have a bed and a 250+ miles range I'm good, I don't drive more than 30 miles away from home almost never, so a 250 is 1 to 1.5 weeks of use.

Yeah because the rest of the country should pay for your EV via rebates and the gas tax you don’t pay to maintain the roads you drive on. I bet you like to go to friends’ houses and plug into their power too. Maybe scam a free charge at work every day while you’re at it.

I have nothing against the concept of EV’s, but I have a lot against our government tipping the playing field to push an agenda.

The yoke is an absolute no for me.
There only appears to be one cup holder in front of the center console and the seats don't look very comfortable.
