Model year 2022 and 2023 Hybrid owners have you had any issues with deep sleep/ dead battery or even messages in Ford Pass indicating an issue? Vote yes or no according to your model year.

I would just like to get a feel from the MTC community on how big an issue this really is.

So not a dead battery just a notification?

MY22. Had deep sleep often, but more so during the cooler months when I use the heated seat and steering wheel. During the winter I sometimes use a battery maintainer to bring the power up to avoid the annoyances of infotainment issues (randomly doesn't play any sound on start), and everything shutting off instantly when removing the key from the ignition or leaving it in acc for more than 1-2 minutes.

Never dead, but it has shown at the lowest charge level on my battery maintainer.

So I don’t have heated anything and I live in Arizona. I only have 1200 miles on my truck though. I expect there are more issues in vehicles with more of the accessories and especially in cold weather. Vehicles that are left idle for long periods. Very annoying.

Yes. I think part of the issue is that the 12v battery is too small. I never had this issue in my older hybrid.

No dead battery, just notification that remote features are disabled. Also noticed that the door lock/unlock only works on driver side until i drive vehicle for a while. i have never seen the problem randomly as others have reported.

It's a thing for EB's as well (y)

It's a big issue and it's far more than just the Mavericks. It's plagues the Escapes/Bronco's as well. I've even heard of it being issues on F150's? Not sure if that's true or not.

It may not be an issue causing a dead battery immediately folks, but the issue is that it will drain your battery faster than it should.

Seriously how did I miss that? 🧐
It's MORE of an issue with the Hybrids? lol. More reports of it from Hybrid owners. I think they also changed the batteries used in EB's as well. So most or all of them come with AGM's now? Also not 100% on this. Anyways, sorry to hijack your thread... it's seems like a FORD issue though.

Not a solution for most, but I removed my vehicle from the app and uninstalled. Less for it to attempt communication behind my back when I don't want it to. Likely no change in the actual issue though. I'll check the battery quarterly. My '22 also does NOT have the AGM battery.

I get the deep sleep notification almost every other day. If I don't drive the vehicle during the weekend, I get the notification. I have a digital voltmeter plugged into the 12 volt accessory socket. When I enter the vehicle the voltage reads around 11.8 to 11.9 every time. Once the vehicle is started the voltage reads 14.8 to 15.2 volts. When I turn the vehicle off, the voltage immediately drops down to 11.9 volts within 15 seconds.

I have a bad battery, obviously. It probably has a shorted cell. I need to take it into the dealership and see if they will replace it under warranty.

Always happy to have your input. I have seen it said that “ deep sleep “ in and of itself is not necessarily a bad thing because its function is to protect you from having a dead battery. All I know is I never needed that kind of “ protection “ before.

I think the cable issues has been addressed though which removes that big battery drain. So far the poll is showing it to have been a much bigger issue for MY 22 and that’s when the cables were likely causing lots of the issues. Of course us MY 23 owners have not had our trucks as long either.

If I start having the issue I’m going straight for this battery and skipping Ford all together.

Deep sleep mode also affects the Mustang Mach-E especially if it hasn't been driven in awhile like 4-5 days. Ford put a small 12v in the Mach-E and since it is always connected to Ford servers even when the vehicle is off it will slowly drain the 12v battery.
