The 200 were likely made for the Hermosillo tooling try out build (TT) which are likely the trucks that are not to be driven. About 2 to 3 weeks before the line starts in Hermosillo, Sterling will start cranking them out. This is why the EPA is redoing their calculation on the Mileage.

(You should always watch what you wish for because there is always someone like me out there.)

Also I think it's a good thing for Ford and the consumer for the review since it is a full re-design of the eCVT electric motor.
Thanks for the MotorTrend link. Very interesting. Taken with the "no-belt" eCVT mechanical tech, seems like a promising advancement.

One of my coworkers is friends with the launch manager at the Hermosillo plant and told me the OKTB will be in about 2 months due to an engineering change.

They will still build the hybrid vehicles but not deliver until then. So earliest should be December for Hybrid deliveries.
Yet, "no delay"

I've seen a few of these "friend of a friend" statements now. While any of them may be true, I'm holding out for something more "official".

****I have been CC’d in the emails between them.****
Thanks, that's a bit of information you didn't share initially. But I'll still hold out for something more official.

I have been CC’d in the emails between them. I for my end will stop checking my email for a delivery until December.
Thanks for the update. I just wish Ford would be more forthcoming regarding the delay. Doesn't matter what's causing the delay. A delay is a delay and that's all we care about.

I'm betting some dealers are also pushing the Ecoboost as they look down on the Hybrid.

I recently talked to a dealer about their Ecoboost coming in and they mentioned that I can get a "real truck" now instead of wait for a hybrid.

Lots of folks who are surrounded all day by $75,000 overkill trucks floating around with judgy opinions.

I am the guy who the girl in Mexico is cheating on the friend's cousin with. I 100% vouch for this information.
In which episode of this "as the world turns" that we find out which girl tells a guy he can have a "DATE" (couldn't resist) if he diverts some boatload of Hybrid parts?

The truth! Lol.

I've got two truths for ya...

1. We know the EPA is testing.

2. We know ecvt/powertrain is a iterative design change.

You've implied that 2 caused 1. I asked for how you knew that and you only provided links that discuss 1 (information we've all known for a long time). Bottom line, we don't know 1 and 2 are related. They could be, but we don't know it to be truth.
I don't think is is accurate.

I got a call from my dealer (also my buddy) two weeks ago or so who said the Mavericks would be delayed for a long time, like into 2022. "Something about EPA testing" he said. I hope he's wrong, but hey. Either way, I get it when I get it.

Did your dude elaborate on what engineering change means, or why?

If you haven't already received a build week, then I would say more likely in January. I ordered my hybrid XLT in mid June. September 30th said build date of November 22nd. October 1st, another email received and this one said December 6th. Keeps getting pushed back.
Interesting, my build date is November 8th. I placed my order August 3rd ish. I ordered A XLT HYBRID iconic silver with just floor mats and hitch. I took off the spray on bed liner. I did not check if it was 2021 or 2022?

Earliest date would be early November if they got released next week. Allow 4 weeks from factory to your dealer.
I still don’t have a date for production, is November-December still a good prediction or only if you already have a production date?

Any hint as to what this "engineering change" was? (EDIT: just saw @clavicus similar Q)

I can see some sort of software change at this late date, but changing the hardware seems either unlikely or really, really unfortunate.

Yes, Tribalism has poopoo'ed all over this forum. There's no Safe Places left on the Internet.

I'll stand by my criticism of FoMoCo's lack of communication.

I get the feeling folks w/ Hybrid orders have moved on to jokes and anything that helps pass the time, but I have seriously considered cancelling. I posted about this on the forum and finally talked to my dealer. My salesman totally sympathizes and actually said FoMoCo has "made dealerships look stupid" from this lack of info about what's going on. (Dealer's words, not mine.) It's good to see folks are sticking it out for the long haul because I think it will be a long haul.

Being critical doesn't make anyone an anti-Ford Instant Gratification Baby. Siskel & Ebert criticized every great movie but that didn't stop us from running out like crazy to buy a VHS/Laser/DVD/BlueRay/"Cloud" copy. I guess fans -- literally "fanatics" -- will plug their ears to anything negative.

And how quickly amnesia sets in on the fanatical. Bronco?! That fiasco seems to have been entirely forgotten by most everyone or labelled as somehow completely unrelated. And folks forgot the earlier snafu that happened with Hybrids. The "until further notice" memo was only about 3 weeks ago but any of us reading anything into that were Tin Foil Hat wearers, and it was swept under the rug. After that was the quieter, but not unnoticed, update that build/delivery dates were getting pushed back by 1-2 weeks. Now delivery is "N/A". And something about EPA testing ... but don't worry there's no delay. 🤔

It's naive to believe the tidbits of unofficial info this forum gets wind of are all just unrelated and the Hybrids will be in an owner's hand come November. If still no delivery on Dec 21st, then Ford really didn't get the base model out in Fall '21. That's nothing to do with instant gratification whining and everything to do with clearly communicating delays.
