How to add the new Firmware update to your Maverick

For those of you who haven’t gone through the process before, I video’d myself updating the infotainment software/firmware to the newly released version. For me, it’s always a little bit messy, but it gets done. Anyways, enjoy the video!

Same here. My 2022 Sync 3 has had no issues, never been updated. Definitely don't want an issue to arise from an update.

Definitely helpful for those having issues!

Just as a data point, I did the update yesterday, when it completed both the download and the install, I shut the truck down and left it. When I started it up this morning, I immediately got an audible "Update Complete" on my system. So all good, it didn't require a full reset or anything like some others have mentioned.

I tried at home off WiFi. Both 5G and 2G. Connection to both but download wouldn’t advance past 0%. Even moved the router within 10ft of my truck, no luck.

I then went out and got a good signal on my iPhone and used it as a hotspot. Download advanced to 18%, then froze there.

after 2 hours of messing with it I realized life is just way too short for this nonsense and gave up. My only issues so far are with my wireless CarPlay adapter which I can certainly live without.

So here I am at almost 5 am and I started my truck to go to work. Thought I’d try my WiFi and see what would happen and bam it’s working !! It took about 3 minutes. Now it’s installing oh crap I’m gonna be late to work

I am with you. Everything I want to work on my newly acquired 23 Hybrid XL is working. If I start having issues I will use this video to help with the update, thanks to the op.

Was delighted to find that when playing music from a USB stick I can make selection choices on the fly!

Ridiculous how in this day and age how this doesn’t work better. I’ve tried for three days with full WiFi just to get to 1%.

Yeah I was about 10 minutes late to work which never happens. It did download 100% but I couldn't wait until it installed I had to go. Apparently it installed itself on the way to work which is 15 minute period. When I left work today I got the audio confirmation the update was installed.

Have you tried really early in the morning? Like around 4 or 5am early?

Thanks for your post. I have a '23 XLT hybrid built in April, and just updated the audio system software. The Ford P/N as well as before & after versions reported were identical to yours. After installation was complete, I let the system sit for a few minutes to make reasonably sure that all the invisible bookkeeping was done. Then I forced a reset by holding down the VOL and SEEK> buttons for several seconds. It took the system a couple minutes to complete initialization of all services after the reboot. Now I get to find out if some of my gripes have been fixed.
