So if I ordered and bought through you and had to bring my vehicle back home, (to Meridian, Idaho) how would that work? Would I fly there and drive it home? Have you ship it to me? How do you handle long-distance deals? At the moment, my local dealers seem to be several $K more than deals I see elsewhere. What's with that? If I could save several thousand a long-distance deal begins to make sense.
I live in florida and plan on flying up and driving it down. Much cheaper than having it shipped.

What is the best way to get a out the door price from you guys for a XL 2.5L hybrid with spray-in bedliner, trailer hitch, 110v inverter? Should I just add everything up on the posted sheet for invoice pricing(along with the destination charge) then subtract 3% and add your two mandatory fees? Would put it around $21,350 from my math, how would I verify this pricing without placing a order yet?
Email us a build and price from Ford's website and we'll email you a quote back [email protected]

It'll be cheaper than your calculations.

Most of our customers fly in and drive back. But shipping can be setup too.

Hi. I live in Brandon. Can you say how you've handled delivery to Tampa? Thanks...
Another question from a newbie to the group: Where the heck is Granger Ford located?

Thanks,
James L. Harrison [near Tampa].

PS: It appears some are buying in Pa, Kansas or wherever and having FoMoCo deliver it to a dealer near the buyer's home. The [prep/setup] fee seems to be in the $200 to $500 range; usually plus registration/tax/title [or whatever]. HOWEVER: If the buyer refuses delivery a "deposit" equal to the shipping fee will be forfeited. Otherwise the deposit goes toward the down payment. At least how I understand it; please indicate where I've goofed it up...

We do not participate in courtesy deliveries. I believe that is what you are referring too and yes, we are in Granger, Iowa. About 20 minutes from the Des Moines airport.

Picked up my truck from @Granger Ford this morning!

I just wanted to take a quick minute and share my final thoughts on what has been an excellent buying experience from start to finish. I see the model for sales they are trying to build as a great direction for buyers, their business and Ford as a company. Here are a few highlights:
  • Great ordering process - quick responses, including several changes to my order and follow-up to questions - order placed the same day (Back on 6/18)
  • Emailed me when I was scheduled (the Ford email never came, despite them having my correct email from the start...I both contacted Ford marketing # and received my initial order #!)
  • Kept me up to date, and offered a reasonable value on my trade (though a last minute crazy CarMax offer had me go in a different direction)
  • Very quick with arranging partial financing (couldn't turn down Ford's current great rates) in the last week before we arrived
  • Had the truck ready first thing, and had us in and through everything in an hour this morning - offered warranty, no hard sells just some discussion about it.
Oh, Eric in the finance team did ask us to root for the Hawkeyes for the day, which we begrudgingly agreed to (you're welcome for that win!).

That is it - great experience end to end!

It may not make sense for everyone to seek out a dealer half way across the country - time and travel can become a factor. But I would encourage anyone thinking about it to give it a go! This was a relatively short trip, about 4 hours drive for me. Last year I did something similar and flew to Seattle from MN to pick up a used fiat for my wife...drove it home over a couple of days and it was a lot of fun. It makes for some memories and time to get acquainted with your new vehicle. We've owned about 20 vehicles in as many years, and these were the first 2 I've travelled to purchase - after 2 similar experiences and great savings, I'll be doing it every time I can going forward!

Thanks for the info. Granger has been great so far, but I'm inherently a suspicious person when it comes to sales. This makes me feel better.

Great report! We need to promote those dealers who truly do put customer service first as well as report the weasels who need to be avoided. The internet is powerful and you reach a lot of people with your post. Good dealers should be rewarded with good reviews.

Just curious, what did you get, how was it outfitted, and was the price out the door close to what you'd expect MSRP to be?

Agreed!

My build is in my signature :) Basically a 2.0 XLT with the 4 major add-ons, plus sliding window, moonroof and full size spare.

I paid exactly what was originally agreed to and is the title of this original thread - 3% below invoice - fees were $180 docs and $45 transfer fee (out of state tags). I will receive a temporary title which I will then have to take to the MN DMV and pay registration/taxes at that time. I didn't finance the whole truck (or intend to) so had already planned/expected that expense.

And just to be clear, there is an invoice pdf floating out somewhere on the forum - invoice itself is roughly 3% below the MSRP for each individual option give/take. But really you can check the math yourself - I just optioned mine out with the invoice sheet, then multiplied that value by 0.97 to get the 3% discount (note the discount does not apply to the destination $1,495 charge as that is a fixed Ford charge). I've attached my window sticker - the price I paid before the $225 fees/tag) was about $30,7xx give or take (not going to do all the math again!)

Read through this thread, didn't see any mention of a lease....would these same terms (3% under invoice) apply, and can you do an out of state lease?

Bump. Question for Granger.... ^^^^^

Sounds great! This is the service I am hoping to receive at Chapman. I would like for my truck to be ready upon my arrival, paperwork completed, and driving away in 60-90minutes. What time was your appointment?

Enjoy your new truck!!
