I’m in Central Florida and mine is about $1,500 year. Insurance in Florida is high, especially in major the cities. I use an independent insurance agent. They write for many companies. You might try getting a few different quotes. I am currently with Auto Owners Insurance company.

My little Porsche to the left is $300 every six months, but I do have a $2,000 deductible. On the news yesterday, most Insurance Companies are loosing money in Florida's claims and many are leaving Florida. Can't blame them.

Those rates are high. I'm in Florida as well and I just added my new 2023 Maverick last week and it was $557.00 and change for 6 months with Geico. I have a multi-car discount so that may factor in some.

I’m 49 in Central Florida just south of Orlando no tickets or accidents and good credit and I pay around $1400 a year for my 23 XLT HYBRID. Insurance in Florida is too high though.

I’m in St Augustine as well. My ‘22 was about the same as @Golfsnob and I’m with GEICO and multi car discount. Replacing with my ‘23 increased the premium $10 for 1 month until my renewal and then I changed the deductible to $1000 and my 6 month premium is now $317.40. Still high considering I’ve not had any accidents or tickets. Still lower than Homeowner’ insurance, electric and water which are all going up☹

First of all, I am a USAA member. Company has really fallen on hard times, and their insurance rates are garbage. I have not used them for insurance in a long time, because the rates are simply not competitive.

My Maverick is $450 every six months with Progressive. I have three vehicles and three drivers on the policy, with full coverage.

I highly suggest you shop around for some quotes. Reach out to some local INDEPENDENT agents who represent multiple insurers and let them compete for your business. That's what I do every several years and it pays off big time.

BTW, if you end up selling your Maverick because the insurance is too high, that's going to rank among the dumbest reasons I have heard. And being on this forum for two years, I've heard some doozies!

When insurers want to leave they might price their renewals based on cash flow needed by payouts. Trying to prove to state that rate restrictions are too low. You have right to change companies. I saw on news last week that more with home owners policies are not renewing (unless they have mortgages and cannot). My home in Texas I built 12 years ago for $80/SQ ft has a replacement cost of 4-4.5 times that amount which increases coverages. My total insurance house & auto, property taxes, medicare supplement, and electric is close to 2500-2600 per month. I do have $100 comprehensive and $250 collision auto replacement cost deductable. The thought of replacing 2nd vehicle with as needed UBER rides and/or rental vehicle is becoming more feasible by the day!

That is high. I’m in a mid sized city in flyover country and I pay $375 for 6 months of full coverage on my ‘23 Maverick hybrid with a $500 deductible.

Whether Florida or flyover country, comprehensive coverage on a new car is expensive.
I'm in flyover country (rural Minnesota) and with a good driving record and American Family (have used them since 1989 and the "old" folks have used them since 1967) I have a 6 month premium of $550.00.

That’s pretty close to my premium with USAA in Atlanta area. My Maverick will arrive in a few weeks, but my F-150 and Mustang Mach E average very similar to your premium. It’s getting ridiculous. I’ve been with USAA 48 yrs.

I thought it was a state law in Florida that anyone in Florida had to just drive golf carts. Insurance can't be much for one of those.
Even tho they may cost more!

I wonder why the premium for my 2023 Maverick is less than for my wife's 2018 CR-V...
