Almost sounds like the scenario where some owners had to replace the front axle.

Hey all! I ordered my Maverick in September of 2022. It is a 2023 Maverick XLT 2.0 AWD w/ 4k tow and Co-Pilot 360. I very excitedly picked my Maverick up from the ford dealership about two weeks ago. It was love at first sight. I loved it more than I could've imagined. In all honesty, once I picked up I was going to immediately sell it for a nice profit, but Once i drove it back home to hopkinsville, ky (About an hour and a half away from the dealership I bought it from) and figured out that a car seat would actually fit in the back with room in the front for a normal sized person, I decided to keep it and make it my own.
The issues starred to arise about 4 days after I brought it home. I noticed that there was a rhythmic squeaking/ squealing noise coming from the front wheels. At first i just assumed it was from the breaks being wet from rain and it all being brand new (This is the first Brand New car I have ever owned). Unfortunately, this problem very quickly escalated and the squeaking noise very quickly turned into a harsh grinding under breaking at low speeds, below 15 MPH. I immediately took this to my local dealer here in Hopkinsville. I dropped it off and by the afternoon they called me and informed me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my vehicle. When I went to pick up the Truck the service advisor proceeded to tell me that if I continue to experience issues then I should go back to the dealer I bought it from. This was very confusing to me since the Maverick is a Ford truck, covered by a Ford factory warranty and I was trying to get it serviced at a Ford Dealership. I continued to drive the truck for another 5 days and the grinding proceeded to get worse and worse. I returned to my local Ford dealership and told the to please fix my new Ford truck, at this point it ad around 300 miles on it. They took it that day and got a tech working on it. about 4 hours later they called and let me know that the truck had been fixed! When I picked it up they told me that the lubed the caliper pins and adjusted the brake springs..... This was confusing to me because the Maverick has 4 disks brakes and of all my years of working on vehicles I have never once seen Brake springs on disk brakes.... Only on drum systems. about 30 minutes after leaving the lot with my "fixed" truck the noise returned....
Now, I had been in contact with the dealership that I bought the vehicle from in Bowling Green, KY about the issues from the onset, they instantly offered to take a look at the vehicle by I decided to take it to my local Ford dealer in hopkinsville because its 5 minutes from my house and I have a wife and 3 week old son at home so its just easier on all of us to stay closer. After two failed "Attempts" from my local dealership I decided to suck it up and take the truck back to Bowling Green. while on the way back to Bowling Green I noticed that while braking at highway speeds between 70-40MPH my steering wheel would shake so violently that I had to white knuckle the steering wheel to keep the vehicle straight. Once I arrived they immediately took my truck back and promised they'd get to the bottom of it. About 5 hours later they called me to let me know that after talking to Ford corporate techs and extensive digging they discover that I actually had a blown wheel bearing/hub assembly on my front passenger side wheel. They informed me that it would take 2-3 days to get the part in a install it. That was on Monday and they called me Thursday to tell me the truck was fixed and the noise seemed to be gone, but they cautioned me to drive the truck and listen just to make sure. So my wife and I packed up her car with our now 4 week old son we drove the hour and a half back to bowling green. After picking up the truck , 5 minutes before they closed, I drove down the road about two miles and wouldn't ya know it, that damn sound came back and the grinding returned. I returned the truck to the Dealership and put the keys in the night deposit box and immediately called Ford Corporate to tell them what was going on and how they were going to fix this.
I'm now back home in Hopkinsville, KY and my truck is still in Bowling Green, still broke. My wife and I are down to one vehicle and are both returning to our jobs soon. No loner car and ford corporate has notified me that they can possibly get me a rental car but I'll more than likely have to pay out of pocket and they'll reimburse me. This has clearly now become a safety issue since a wheel hub has already had to be replaced. My Maverick now has 667 miles on it. This will now be the 4th time its been looked at by ford techs for the same issue. In KY that means the lemon law is now in effect for this vehicle. Im going to contact the dealership in the morning but I'm running out of options and it seems like the mechanics are really stumped on the issue. I'm thinking its a front axel issue but we will see and I'll keep updating this post.

There have been a few posts about owners having to get the front axles replaced over the last few years, I do not recall the details though. You might be able to find the posts with a forum search, but I think most of them had a much better experience with the dealers.What happened with those owners?
Great advice! I was polite and dealt with someone who was really trying to help. Mine took a little longer because I was dragging my feet hoping my Maverick would show up so I wouldn’t have to drive my thirsty F250 on trips.If you go this route, I wanted to share some info on past experience:
1. Look up your state law on when a vehicle becomes eligibile, and use that phrasing when talking to ford Customer relations. i.e. if it says "out of service for more than 30 days", make sure you say "it has been out of service for 40 days", or "a reasonable number of attempts to repair" and you say "it has been an unreasonable number of attempts to repair at 6 attempts to fix this issue".
2. Be kind. The people talking calls are more information-takers who pass along the info to the actual rep who will call you back to follow up with details and a possible offer. Being angry will only frustrate them and it only makes it slower for you.
3. Keep in mind the process can be a little slow. In the one vehicle I LL'ed, it took two months from the first call to the buyback being completed, but it was a relatively easy process.
With that said, a few things I've learned:
1. Not all dealerships are created equal. As others noted, check reviews and check around. Some dealerships can't keep good mechanics, and others hold on to them, but you have to dig to find them sometimes. In my case, the best Ford service people at a dealership are at a dealership closer to my work than home and well worth the drive for anything serious. I've also had the 'take it back to the dealer where you bought it' and ended up taking it to another location entirely and got it all fixed up within a day (Mustang at the time).
2. Don't hesitate to have another dealership look at it. Sometimes, it just takes getting the right person to look at it. Not all mechanics are experienced, so its hit or miss to get one to look at it who has both the experience and the pride in their work to fix it right the first time.
