Okay, Who Locked My Door?

About 50 or 60% of the time when I get out of the Maverick and shut the door, the driver's door locks by itself. I can open the other doors but this indicates a problem with the switch or harness, in the driver's door.
Has anyone else noticed this problem on their Maverick?

Any chance you're bumping the lock when you open? The switch is really close to the handle.

I've been complaining to my dealership about this issue since I received my Mav in March '22. There are other posts on this forum about this issue. Now Ford Canada admits there is a problem, but the last time I had my truck in for ANOTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUE they said they fixed it based on a service notice, but have not. I have trained myself to hit the UNLOCK button whenever I exit my truck, or to leave the window down. It's usually the driver's door only that locks. Those that say we're accidently pressing the lock button should think about it..... why only one door? My latest problem is that the passenger window is in down position...2 week lead time for a diagnosis appointment next week and then they'll tell me they need to order driver's door switch for which I'll probably have to wait weeks. I am not amused.

I've had one incident of having my door lock unexpectedly.
Got out of the truck (engine running) to move some debris off the road and when I closed the door and was walking away, I heard the click.
Did NOT accidentally hit the lock button and it was a couple seconds after closing the door.
Thankfully, I have the keyless entry and remembered the code.

It has happened to me twice with my '23. All four doors locked. I just used my key to unlock the driver door. I've only had it since June.

Happened a couple of times and luckily the window was down. Now I make sure to take the key out with me at all times, even if I'm just at the gas station.

Our two Mav's at work do it too. You are not hitting the button because all doors would lock. I've gotten in the habit of rolling the window down about halfway when making deliveries.

When I saw mine had keyless entry, I said sold.
I used to lock my keys in my old tacoma at least once a year, I got really good with a coat hanger

Clearly poltergeists. Last week my fuel filler door (hybrid) popped open while I was reaching into the bed about 2 feet away from it. I clearly heard the solenoid activate, so it was not a case of the latch not quite holding. All modern cars seem to suffer from too much technology. I hope it saves a lot of copper (direct wiring).

OP what trim level is your Maverick? If it's a Lariat maybe you are putting your hand in the right place to activate the lock? Doesn't seem likely, since that would lock all the doors, but hey it's a shot in the dark.

Maybe you are bumping the bottom two buttons on the keypad on the door as you close it, which will lock the doors.
