Auto lock is an option for Ford Vehicles that can be enabled or disabled. I actually enabled the menu for it in Forscan just so I could Disable/Enable it in my Cluster settings. There is a way to Disable it without using Forscan as well. I will have to look for it.

You would think auto locking or "walk away locking" would be a feature only for Remote start and keyless entry vehicles. Yet it is an option 2020 F250s with a regular physical key. I believe the auto locking feature is what is causing problems for people in their Mavericks.

My 23 XL has done this randomly since new. Only locking the driver's door, regardless of the location of the key fob, or weather. Dealer suggested changing the unlock sequence from default to all unlock with one push of the fob which made no difference.

Mine is a 24 lariat hybrid. Driver door locks frequent, even with key Fob in the vehicle. Other doors are unlocked. Ford?

It's just an educated guess after 42 years as an aircraft mechanic/inspector. It hasn't done it lately, but like some others, I always take the key with me now. On a different issue, I have lost control of the radio twice. Could not do anything and the volume was too loud. Taking the key out and starting again solved the issue.
On the radio thing, I've also had it happen 2 or 3 times. Alternatively (and a little less troublesome) you can hold the POWER and SKIP/FWD buttons for 5 seconds to do a hard restart of the entire infotainment system, without having to shut the truck down/off.

And to the auto-locking...yes yes and YES. My truck is named "Kody" (Surf's Up, Kody Maverick)..and nearly every damn morning I put stuff in driver rear door and dread then trying to open driver door as I KNOW Kody will play fook-fook games and have that door, and only that door, locked!

Read to end of thread, sounds like there's really still no "fix" for this??

ETA, Kody is a '23 XLT Lux.

About 50 or 60% of the time when I get out of the Maverick and shut the door, the driver's door locks by itself. I can open the other doors but this indicates a problem with the switch or harness, in the driver's door.
Has anyone else noticed this problem on their Maverick?
This happens to me about the same percentage. I can guarantee i am not hitting the flip switch by handle. Only locks the driver door. Has done it with key in and out and my phone in and out of car so if it had been all doors i would be screwed. 24XL. Has done it 3 times with wife sitting in passenger side. It is frustrating. I don’t have remote keyless entry so have to open rear door and reach up front and unlock. Probably has done it 20-30 times on me.
