They make a '7' speed manual Bronco Sport, that should drop right in to the EcoBoost Maverick, you are right about the Hybrid though.i wouldnt hold my breath waiting on stick shift Maverick folks, and a Hybrid stick shift from Ford will probably never happen.
I don’t think so but I’ll watch for that in the future. Are you turning off the ignition in D? Parking brake activates automatically.
thanks for the info, i had no idea a hybrid stickshift was available ANYWHEREThey make a '7' speed manual Bronco Sport, that should drop right in to the EcoBoost Maverick, you are right about the Hybrid though.
They do have a manual hybrid in Europe and UK but it is a different system, quote:
'The internal combustion engine is assisted by an electric motor. At low speed, or when stationary, the engine can switch itself off and the 48V starter-generator seamlessly restarts when needed. The separate 48V Li-ion battery is automatically recharged by regenerative braking during coasting and braking.
Essentially a starter/generator with belt drive to the front of the engine, fairly simply and provides regen braking and electric boost for acceleration, used with turbos and manual trans.
If there is a hard stop at both ends then absolute position of the physical shifter matters. In order to accommodate the auto-park feature then there would need to be some way of returning the physical position of the dial back to park. This adds complexity, which adds cost and more points of failure.I like it. Only wish it didn't keep spinning after park or drive. 2020 Escape has this. Was puzzled why the Maverick didn't.
I've never ended up in the wrong gear by just "spinning" the dial without looking at it or the dash indicator. I always get at least 3 if not 4 soft "clicks" on a spin of my wrist. R to D only requires a minimum of 2 clicks, D to P is only 3 clicks in the other direction. No physical stops needed for this old man.If there is a hard stop at both ends then absolute position of the physical shifter matters. That'll make for a jerky/noisy start as it disengages the parking brake once you push on the gas pedal.I don’t think so but I’ll watch for that in the future.
Just happened again this morning, feels like the engine is shaking, won’t stop until I turn it off. The only thing I noticed was that the AC was on when starting so I will be sure to turn it off and see if it makes a difference. Are you turning off the ignition in D? At this point, you should take it to your dealer. It's not the parking brake or the AC.Just happened again this morning, feels like the engine is shaking, won’t stop until I turn it off. Don’t have a lot of faith in the dealer mechanics. I’m going to start a recording on my phone every time I start the truck and see if I can record the event. It would be impossible to fix or even guess what the cause is unless the mechanic can reproduce the problem. Thanks for your input. At this point, you should take it to your dealer. If you are recording the event, you may also want to think about popping the hood when that is happening to see (and video if it is) if the engine is actually rocking on the engine mounts.Don’t have a lot of faith in the dealer mechanics.
