The battery going dead is so going to happen. Maybe the charge line isn't connected to the proper spot in the maverick? It was installed by a commercial place but who knows!
The only way to really test this....is to hook up the Maverick as you would when ready to pull out towing.
Then with coach engine off, no generator running, and no shore power, test the voltage of the Maverick battery under the rear seat from the terminals. It would be good to test right away...then a couple hours later. Maybe turn on the headlights manually for 20 seconds or so. That gets rid of the flash charge in the battery. It should be reading 12.6-12.8 volts DC after sitting a bit. Then start coach engine and check. It should immediately show something at least in the mid 13 v DC range. If no change.....your charge line is not adding power.
There must be increased voltage after starting the coach engine. That is what you are looking for. You COULD see 13 volts DC at the Maverick battery right after shutting it off, but that does not mean it is getting power to the battery from the coach. Again, you are looking for a change in voltage. If that isn't showing something when parked, I would check again after an hour or so of towing.
The Maverick battery cannot go dead if it is getting current from the coach unless that current is interrupted ( maybe a breaker is installed instead of a fuse and is shutting down?) or the battery is shorted internally. If the Maverick operates normally when not towed, that is not the case. This is something simple, but maybe not so easy to figure out.

If you have voltage at the battery, all should be good. Your installer said you don’t need a diode. Against traditional thinking and would install one wether it’s stand-alone or part of a device on the market. I said it b4 that it could just be a bum OEM Ford battery, as was in my case. Maybe your dealer/Ford will warranty replace it. They made me pay 400+ for my diagnosis and replacement battery.

I ordered some diodes this morning. Will add one to my charge cable. All this talk about dead batteries...has me wanting to get this right before I even tow the first time.

I have the towbar, auxiliary wiring to taillights done. Now wiring front 6 pin wiring. Then charge cable. Only on the third day........

Don't forget the breakaway switch. Hopkins has a model 20050 that is smaller than most and easier to hide.

With all this talk about towing, don’t forget the Ford App monitors the tire pressure.

Quick question but exactly where should they have connected the charge line into the maverick. Maybe that's the problem?)

Would be nice if Ford set up alarm notifications from the Fordpass App when a tire gets low...but I'm happy to be able to see the relative pressure with it. Maybe someday...

It does, even if you don’t have the app on. I tested it by letting air out of one tire. Sent me a message at about 28 lbs of pressure.

From the back of the 6 way to the positive post of your 12v battery with a diode/device in-line somewhere in the circuit.

I connected my RVi charger to the jump post. Towed 2000 mile round trip to Key West and back. No issues at all.

I've always used the posts under the hood on my 2 C-Max toweds, but no Maverick experience yet. You can't go wrong connecting directly to the battery under the seat, but I think either one should be sufficient and will do my install at the post under the hood first and check.

It does, even if you don’t have the app on.
At what point? I haven't lowered my air pressure to check...but that is great news.

FYI, Ford dealer cited this as one of the reasons for warranty denial as only for jump starting when “diagnosed” reason for my battery failure.
