We towed our ford edge for 7 years prior to this maverick with zero problems so the motorhome charge line is not the problem. We had already tested the charge wire at the battery in the maverick and there is 13+ volts going into the maverick from the charge line. Installing a 12v plug directly...
Thank you for your patience. We just called them and no diode was installed. They said you don't need one. ?? I I'm guessing what we need to do is directly hook the patriot brake to the battery. Worried the battery is still going to die though.
It is a patriot 2 brake system that we used when pulling our Ford edge with this MH. it plugs into the cigarette lighter.
(I am the wife posting for hubby that is going crazy with this. I'm the techy problem solver one)
We are on the road with a dead car and called closest Ford dealer and they told us they couldn't get us in to have the battery checked for 2 months. Called the other one in close city and they are out 2 months as well. So brand new vehicle and it doesn't work. No where to turn. Can't keep it...

Yes, we hardwired from there directly back to the battery under the seat.
Tried this today but 50 miles into the tow we already have a dead battery! This has been a nightmare!
What is a diode wiring harness? We had a shop install the tow bar and wiring but our truck goes dead and the brake loses power with in 90 minutes of towing. It's been a real pain.
Hubby already checked fuses and none were blown. We head off again tomorrow and we aren't looking forward to a dead vehicle again. We will try not using the pateiot brake system I guess so hopefully that helps the battery but we can't not do that regularly. Somethings gotta be fixed with this...
We have had our maverick for about 3 weeks now. It was very quiet the first 2 weeks. Then we flat towed it twice now no problem getting it in to flat tow mode. With in 90 minutes of the tow booth times the patriot brake lost power and the truck was completely dead. Nothing worked. Now after a...
Bluox type bar and patriot 2 brake and within 90 minutes the brake loses power and the truck battery is dead. How are you running power to your brake? We had the charge line installed too.
