My new Corolla received extensive hail damage. Between almost receiving MSRP and insurance, I managed to secure a hybrid AWD Corolla with premium package for no additional cost, and fortunate to not have an auto loan on it. Also loving the 55-59 MPG.

While I gave up the hybrid XLT Maverick earlier this year, having a vehicle that has both AWD and is hybrid, is the best solution for me at this time. Would love the small bed, but Ford needs to expand its features without dellay.
That is an excellent deal. Would you mind sharing the number and the dealership? Thank you

Thanks for the correction. What happened last year MY2023 was an aberration and this will be closer to MY2022. Meaning nothing is wrong and to carry on. Still see the posts of some dealers are bad. My daughter's order went in July 18th at 11:42AM. Paperwork and $500 deposit taken on July 20th as one document was not readable and then he was out the next day. Sales MAnager said they normally do not do x-plan but would it for my daughter as already bought there and on the top, says Motor Vehicle purchase contract. Kind of oddly says, Will qualify for x-plan once available and the next line lists my x-plan#.

They treated me well, as found out about x-plans 3 weeks after ordering. They basically gave me invoice pricing and was an even 32k with the doc fee. Build details are in my signature.
I used X-plan for the 2023...first time ever. I just hate the hassle of arguing over stupid DOC fees and pricing. X-Plan just kept it simple. Saved about $800 on the MSRP, and saved $499 off the usual $599 DOC fee here...and didn't worry about $299 nitrogen fills and $500 window etching nonsense.

The one thing that did startle me was that the Sales manager said with X-Plan, they HAD to charge me that much and couldn't lower the price. LOL.

This time they didn't want any deposit and agreed to X-Plan again. This particular Lariat build only saves me $567 off of MSRP, but the same $499 saved on the DOC. Worth dealing with the X-plan process.

I don't have my X-Plan PIN yet for the second one, as they expire in 12 months when issued, and they don't need to be available until the sale.

Idk about not needing the x-plan# of the time of order. Seeing it's to late now, see if the COVP order look up shows you something to indicate the x-plan. Otherwise the x-plan price will not be on your sticker when generated.

You can't get a hybrid for $24,900. I believe it is more like $26,495.
You are correct, and so am I.... as I stated " less destination", with the $1595 destination charge on top of the base hybrid list of $24900(as I stated) you get the $26495( as you stated).

I had an appointment to order a new one to add to the fleet.
I canceled my appointment after I seen the new pricing. It’s now a $30k truck for an xl hybrid by the time you drive off the lot.

I can be a cash buyer but I’m sure interest rates have gone up significantly in the past year as well?

Was a heck of a deal at $20k. $26k not nearly as much…

Friend of mine just bought a NEW Chevy 1500 crew cab. $33k. claims he’s averaging 24 mpg and has tons more features than an xl ford.

I found my wife a 2020 Lexus rx350 AWD with 29k miles for $34k just a few months ago. 10x nicer than any maverick ever built. And I suspect will last 4x as long as my maverick too. Even with the 30k mile head start?

I love my little maverick but at $30k and up there are a lot of options. Maybe not compact pickups but a lot of quality vehicles.

I believe it. The Maverick is no longer a $19,999 standard Hybrid truck like it was first advertised to be and it has acquired a bad reputation for reliability and recalls. Plus, people have been waiting for "the car market to crash" which hasn't happened yet and there is no end in sight so any savings people had over the past 3 years during covid, they likely have already tapped into to spend on other stuff due to the horrible economy. And finally, most people know they probably wont actually get their Maverick even if they order one because of how many others orders' have already been pushed to the next model year with ridiculous and unexplainable delays.

2024 Hybrid Maverick - $25,000 PLUS $1500 delivery + Tax = Close to 30k for a horribly problematic vehicle that has a 2006 webcam quality backup camera, 99 cent store wiring harness, and still no wireless apple carplay that you likely wont even be able to drive home due to it having an outstanding recall with back ordered parts.

Might as well spend a couple extra thousand and just get a base model Tacoma. I'm not even aware of a single recall they had nor do I know anyone who has had issues with theirs with less than 180k-ish miles.

Sorry, I didn't mean to mislead.

ABSOLUTELY you need the dealer's approval and your DORA preview order should list your X-Plan price. You just don't need to have your X-Plan PIN available at the time of order...only the time of purchase. Ford taught me that when I first had 100 shares of Ford stock that USED to let you have X-Plan. You had to hold stock for 6 months to request a PIN. My first Maverick order was made 4 months into stock ownership, so I would not have been able to take delivery for 2 months. Ford told me to go ahead and order as I would not need the PIN until delivery, so I did, back in 2021. That PIN expired without use as I waited 491 days. Ford has discontinued that X-Plan eligibility from stock ownership..

I now enjoy a Friends & Family link to X-plan eligibility and my PIN can be generated quickly when I find delivery is on the horizon. I think the Mustang Club of America X-Plan eligibility can also come quickly...AFTER being a member for the required 90 days.

But the key is always that the DEALER agrees to sell to you via X-Plan, and that agreement is evidenced by the X-Plan price showing up on the DORA preview order.

I took my car to the Ford dealership where I purchased my '23 Mav for an oil change and State Inspection. While I waited, I walked over to check with the Sales Rep who ordered my truck, but he was working with a couple. I asked the Sales Mgr if their '24 Mav orders were behind last year's, he told me they sold 70 Mavericks last year but so far this year is not at that pace. He didn't seem concerned though. I guess the order banks will stay open longer this go around.

I have a Toyota 4runner trd pro which had a 53k msrp. The backup camera on that vehicle is worse than Maverick. Btw the best backup camera I have ever used was the jeep wrangler JL. Also the 2021 4runner has no wireless apple carplay or android auto. Tacoma is not any better btw.

raising the price, not improving the vehicle (heck if anything making it worse) and not making people's trucks that were ordered a long time ago adds up to some pretty frustrated people that are going to move onto something else.

My 23 XLT Hybrid just arrived and I now plan to sell it. I've had my Corolla Hybrid for a few months (after waiting 5 months for it to be built) now and am loving 55 mpg. While a truck is more flexible and would make certain occasions more enjoyable I have a hard time with the idea of selling the car and I'm not in a situation where two new cars makes sense financially (1st new car in my life was the Corolla and I dont do auto loans).
The thing with Corollas, whether gas or hybrid models, is that it's a tried and true product. Corollas have been around since Moses was a boy, and Toyota has been killing it with their hybrids regardless of model. Not surprised you're keeping the Corolla. Seems like there's been a number of complaints from Maverick hybrid users on this forum.

ha! me too. Actually kind of hoping it takes a while to give us time to decide what to do about my stupid Kia that needs a new engine. Kia is making us do all sorts of 1000 mile tests before they will act, and with me only driving less than 5000 miles a year, it's taking FOREVER to go through the official new engine process, even with the Kia Class Action lawsuit settlement. Need to get through all that before deciding to sell it, trade it in for the truck or keep it as a car for my teenagers.
Sold my wife's 2016 Kia with only 35,000 miles to Carmax as I knew that engine was going to have issues. Kia's gas direct injection results in one of the dirtiest engines on the planet ( a reason to avoid the EB which is another DI engine ). Replaced the Kia with an XL hybrid which my wife loves. After 10 months we finally got the XL last week and it was worth the wait.

I need to look into generating this pin. I've been a MCOA member for almost a year now. I wonder if I need to reup if the pin is good for a year??? I could just generate the pin before my membership runs out, right?

yeah i bought a brand new 83 corolla it was 6500$, drove it over 200K +miles before selling it 8 years later, besides regular maintenance the only thing I ever had to do was to swap out the alternator - it was so easy to get to and change I was able to do it in 15 minutes in 0 degree temps. Just an outstanding well built car.
