I was worried how fast the Hybrid would be if it would struggle and all that, my old Ranger was incredibly slow and didn’t want that again

I'm honestly a little surprised the ecoboost is not performing better than they are in the reviews.
Depends on which reviews tbh. car and driver has the Ecoboost at 5.9 and the hybrid at 7.8…they’re usually pretty reliable

The hybrid will be as fast as my current v6 4x4 Suv that gets only 14.5mpg!! Can't wait for it!

Kind of funny. If the sub 8 second numbers coming out are accurate, the Hybrid Mav is right about the same 0-60 as my current Mazda 3 Sport. It's not the fastest thing around but certainly not terrible. And it's pretty amazing from a pickup truck that weighs 1000 pounds more and can potentially get 10+ MPG better. 😏

I dont' think you can brake boost a eCVT, so that's why the Ecoboost is likely showing two seconds vs one second difference. Realistically, Sofyan's is probably the best real world comparison. On the highway though we have to remember its less about power to weight and more about absolute power since its mostly about overcoming wind resistance. So passing someone say 65mph to 75mph, the Ecoboost may feel quite a bit peppier than say a 0-30mph off the line where the Hybrid is likely to feel quite pleasantly perky, especially with stop-start.

If the 7.6 to 8.1 is accurate it will be 2 to 3 seconds faster than my 2008 Tacoma 2.7L 5 speed. It was a very reliable vehicle. It was a very boring vehicle. Ten years was long enough.

Colors on the Lariat interior are more accurate to real life on the Redline video. Bronze/Brown/Blue - Meaning better in person but still a confusing scheme -

Redline had it in sport mode, car and driver probably did too. Some of the video reviews didn't. The major reviewers will do better controlled measures when the get a mav to keep.
