My 2023 Lariat Hybrid arrived back in late March, have 4k miles on her, and no complaints. Recently moved and full size couch was no problem! (with good ratchet tie downs). The B&O stereo is excellent.

She towed a 1500 lb. camper on a 1,000 mile trip, no issues at all, gas mileage was half, about 18 mpg through the mountains, which is still much better than the Tacoma was. I have tips on how to wire the lights, and the brakes, let me know if interested and I'll post them.

Love the color. Question: Did you wire up trailer brakes or can your Mav handle the 1500 lb trailer without having trailer brakes?

I’m very curious about your trailer brake controller as well, while technically not required for my 1,500 pound trailer I’d still like a safety net, particularly when I travel through the Rockies this fall.

But, but, what about my Prius 🙁
Sorry, but I find it hard to believe the amount of comparisons/cross shopping between these two vehicles. Possibly from people that never owned a truck? Personally I was torn between a Hybrid or an Ecoboost, AWD was the deciding factor. A pickup bed is very handy and hard to replace once you have one at your disposal.

Would love to know about wiring and trailer brakes too. I have the standard 4-pin setup but not sure how to get it wired for 7-pin that handles the brakes.

Basically anything that isn't a sedan could tow that trailer, and someone over on B6G posted a picture of a VW Bug with a 4 wheeler strapped to the back and roof (no joke).

Point is - the Maverick is a truck because trucks have beds and the Maverick has a bed. Doing things that lots of other vehicles can do does not make your Maverick more of a truck.

It's a truck already because of it's design and classification.
