Definitely the transmission is, the electrical engine is now produced in house. Not the brightest dealer, or he just makes up stuff to get you to buy want he wants to sell so he gets his commission sooner.
The electrical motor is not the same as the escape.

Just so everyone knows my original post and title was modified by the moderator, and I can do not have access to change it back or edit it to be back to original.

Dealer called me Friday to let me know about the possible delay on my mother's hybrid of 6-7 months as well. Said he got it from his factory rep on a conference call that day. He has 5 orders for hybrids and hers is first all code 19. My EB has been scheduled and should arrive late Nov.

Just to clarify, did the dealer mention anything about “hybrids not being approved by the government” lol. Just hearkening back to the original controversy of this thread: “government approval” vs simply a backlog of thousands of orders in a constrained supply chain. Some Hybrid orders have an estimated delivery date on the trackers of less than 2 weeks from today.

At the end of the day the manufacturer cannot sell a vehicle until the government mandated window sticker has government mandated EPA ratings on it. If they don't have the EPA ratings approved and finalized, they can't print them on the sticker, they can't sell the vehicle. It's just taking longer for them to get their ducks in a row on this. That's it.

I'm thinking that with the drive video embargo being lifted on Oct 5th that Ford is probably pushing hard to have that EPA approval by then, if not maybe more info on what's up

I’m one of them. I think we will see something very soon. My estimated arrival (10/16) is sooner than a stock order that is ready to be shipped.

Maybe. Sometimes they have a news release or two that goes out at the same time reviews go live, and an EPA numbers headline would make some sense if I were in their shoes.

It's also worth noting that a number of other 2022 Ford hybrid EPA numbers have not yet been released including the Escape Hybrid which may be sharing the same powertrain as the Maverick. They haven't released specs on it yet, leading people to believe it may be getting the revised hybrid transmission/motor the Maverick has.

"Just got done with a wholesale meeting with Ford and they blindsided me with some Maverick information that I was hoping you could share with your mother….Hybrid Mustangs (sic, meant Maverick) will not be on dealer lots for 6 to 7 months due to a variety of issues they are coming across….with that in mind can you please see if she wants to wait that long or convert to a gas?" This was the email on Friday.
That's all I know, she is sticking with the hybrid.

His email followup said commodity constraints were the only issue. *correct ion "primary" issue, just checked the email.

FYI Ford did release information early on that NO dealers would receive hybrids on their lots as stock orders, until retail hybrid orders were satisfied. Not sure if you were around at that point when that information was out.

Waiting on the EPA is just repeated over and over.
