In the last month mpg reading dropped from a steady 40.6 to lees than 30 has anyone experienced this? I haven’t changed anything from my driving habits, I wonder if this is a software issue?

My MPG dropped about 4,5 since my first service in May. I don't change anything but I could easily get 570 miles /tank before the service. Now I only get 510 or fewer miles per tank. I think it's summertime and the AC uses more power.

I'm my experience, the heat plays a big part. Especially when the external temp gets above 107, or so. The battery doesn't get used because it can't charge/discharge safely at that temp.

I've also had certain gas make a big difference, too. It's possible that this is the primary culprit. Gas companies change the blend at different times of the year and this affects mileage. My best mpg ever was on ethanol free gas.

Lastly, I did experience a 1-2 mpg drop when I put on heavier tires.

I hope this helps.

In the last month my 2 Hondas and my Mav hybrid have increased 2-5 mpg. I figured the gas blend was changed over? Weather has also cooled off a bit. Suburban NY here.

If its not one of the common items (temperature, AC usage, driving habits, more highway, etc.) you should get the car checked out.
MPG dropping could be a sign something else is wrong.

When my old Lexus CT hybrid had MPG drop without major changes, both times it turned out to be other issues (once was a brake issue, and another time was some bearing or joint thing that needed to be replaced.)

Your MPG will get worse when the winter blend gas comes.

I got my Maverick at the end of March and was starting to get 45-47 mpg figures but when Summer temps hit the 115-120° in July the milage dropped to 30 and it'd been about there until we had a few 95° days after the storm and the MPGs went up to 40.
Temps hit 120° again yesterday - hoping that was the peak and we'll get down to nice cool 102-105° for the rest of September:rolleyes: 🥵 .
I see the MPG drop on all my vehicles in the Summer but worse on the hybrid as the AC also has to cool the HV battery.

I'm in New Orleans and my hybrid was getting around 43 mpg on screen. After a couple of weeks of triple digit heat it dropped to like 34! Now it's around 95 degrees and it's creeping back up to near 38!

Air conditioning is 100% why mine guzzles gas of late. Alabama's recent run of upper 90s with high humidity means the a/c runs nonstop.

I read with great interest the FE numbers that are posted. My Maverick still under 900 miles but the normal average is 33-34 mpg, Hybrid.
Although I do nothing special in my driving just drive like I always have. I would guess 90% of my driving is between 40-60 mph, unless I'm caught in traffic with traffic lights.
I only use the drive mode vehicle starts in, no slow takeoffs, drive at the speed limit.

All motor vehicles suffer with extreme high or low temperatures. We've had a record high temperature run here in Texas for weeks where day time temps were in the 104-111 degree range. Our Accord Hybrid and Outlander PHEV both have suffered on mileage. The PHEV normally gets us about 45 miles of EV range and were down in the 30's. Same with the Accord. Lithium batteries do not like extreme temperatures and running the AC at low temps just adds to the issue.

I've never cracked 40mpg for a tank, just the occassional trip or two. Being in Florida the AC has never been turned off since I got the truck in March. Hopefully when the cooler weather comes (50-60 degrees) I can turn off the AC and see if it gets up to 40 finally.
