Updated: Looks like Ford is just putting the wrong windows sticker on some of the Hybrids. The engines are still made in Mexico.

Since the beginning of Maverick production the hybrids engines have been built at Ford’s Chihuahua Engine Plant in Mexico.

Recently people have noticed the Parts Content Information page says the engines are being made in the USA.

If you recently received your Maverick Hybrid, check to see the engine manufacture parts content information or better yet, something directly on the engine. Post it along with your build date.

It would be good to know when Ford switched to US engines and how this factors into the hybrid recall.

Would be more helpful to find a sticker on the engine itself indicating anything but chihuahua engine plant (e.g. Cleveland or Dearborn). That would eliminate an error with those parts content information declaration stickers (wrong one provided by the dealer, error at the factory, etc). EcoBoost does either get engine and transmission from US, or engine from Spain.

At around 28 seconds, noticed that the serial number: 3FTTW8E32PRA22346

That would at least give you when Ford started using the Hybrid engine if not before that?

My hybrid was built in late March through mid April. Also shows engine and transmission made in US.

Could you (or anyone with a Parts Content Information sticker indicating a US-built Hybrid engine) look at the stickers in the engine bay and see if you see anything referencing CHEP? That's Chihuahua Engine Plant and would indicate the engine actually came from Mexico. Otherwise it would probably have to be Dearborn, Cleveland, or Lima unless there's a new US engine plant that they haven't announced yet (unlikely).

An engine from Mexico should have a label like this (shown in an Escape Hybrid that uses the same engine (and most of the powertrain) as Maverick Hybrid). Note it's labeled as having come from CHEP.

For help locating this, it's near the coolant reservoirs on the passenger side:

I wonder if Ford has picked up cues from Apple:

Apple says:
Design Origin: USA
Assembled in: China (or Chihuahua)

The paper says USA & Canadian parts: 11%

Would engine and transmission be 11% or greater than 11%?

If counting every plastic rivet and giving those "parts" equal weight, ya, maybe 11% makes sense.

Based in weight, engine and transmission may be 25%. Based on net worth $ wise, maybe 40%.

🤷🏻‍♂️

In that case, what does your PCI sticker say for the % US/Canadian content, since your 2022 would reflect an engine sourced from Mexico?

This Maverick was built May 24 2023 but the dealer had removed the Parts Content Information page.

Now I see what my Escape's label means with CHEP.
What's the E111... & barcode below indicate that's whited out?

Indeed if someone having the parts content sticker that says US/US can check the engine sticker and see what it says. It will solve the mystery as to whether its a sticker mistake on the window or if production has actually been supplemented from an NA plant - most likely Dearborn Engine

I have the Made in USA sticker, but just checked the engine and it says CHEP like in the picture up thread.
