Is the tailgate unlock on the dash a dummy?

I've pushed it multiple times and nothing happens. I don't even hear any clicking like trying to open. Or am I missing something?

I dunno... All I can think of is OP got some special edition with ejector seats, finally figured out the sequence of presses needed and *poof* No more post updates.

As other's have somewhat point out, there isn't a button anywhere in the truck to do that. The only power in the tailgate is to the lock (unless XL).

Just took a picture of it and looked at it closely and you sir are correct. It's that cargo light button. Damn my eyes are going.
