Not everyone lives close to their 2nd closest dealership. Also, when it comes to getting service, you may want to use the "Local" and convenient dealership. I don't have a problem with Manufactures utilizing a dealership network but I do have a problem with states and laws that prevent consumers from buying direct (should they, the consumers, or any manufacturer wish to use the direct model). It is flat out reducing competition and choice. Both can coexist.
True.

I am lucky because there are at least 4 dealerships within 10 miles of my home. Yet, I won't buy from any of them because they won't sell at MSRP without adding unwanted services or an added dealer markup.

I do, however, have a great service advisor at the closest dealership, and will continue to use them for service. I won't buy the next Ford from them.

Hopefully, your closest dealership is good to buy from and to have your Ford serviced.

I suspect dealers are encouraged to take every order they can get from Ford Corporate even if they don't have allocations. I would be shocked if they did not know they exceeded the expected allocations by the order bank close date. If a dealer turned you away because of no allocations- then no sale. If you order and not built high percentage will just order next year. I suspect it same. reason Ford doesn't tell you who is getting a build and who is not. As long as you have a chance you are not shopping another vehicle and if not built people by nature say I already waited a year and reorder.

Haven't seen a respose from Tim or Sarah. I'm sure he'll talk about it Tuesday night although he may have mentioned it already on his Friday member video.

This happens. My dealership frustratingly got zero allocations one month, so I jumped to another vehicle. The next month, I got scheduled. Just headless chicken in the allocation algorithms.
Yes for sure they keep changing their allocation rules. I think that I can't trust @Ford, now they have a recall again for a fix" cutting a hole in the bottom of the hybrids" and was never told what a permeant fix was going to be. Basically slapped a gerryrigged fix on it and called it good!

Yes and I was sure I’d get scheduled this month, very frustrating
I looks like you ordered a turbo version Shane. 2.0 orders were way under capacity so yours will get built. My AWD I show on my videos in Park City is like a little race truck. Once the warranty is up, I plan on getting a tune to over 300hp.

Get one of each if you can over time, then you will have the best of both worlds: Max Capability and Max MPG.

Let us all remember. There are numerous posts about dealers in smaller towns not receiving allocations and others being upset. Maybe this is Ford trying to level the field before MY24 orders hit.

I have absolutely nothing against Tim and I applaud him for the fine service he provides. One needs to keep in mind this is the product of an unnamed Marketing genius at LM. Here, we are talking about Mavericks yet we have no idea whether LM is successful with their other models.

With that being said, Ford really needs to gather all of their brain trust and truly figure out how many Mavericks they can produce without compromising the product. I agree that until they can stabilize the process, they should go to a "first in first out" delivery model perhaps based on a region. They should be able to plan the delivery logistics more accurately.

Ford better get their acts together fast or else the other brands are going to catch up and surpass them. If I didn't have a backup car, I would have bought a Ridgeline instead of the namesake I took my driving road test in 52 years ago...

Also remember that Ford didn’t tell dealer’s their allocations until AFTER the 23 order banks closed.

My numbers are probably off a bit but I think generally describes the situation at hand.

Tim and LM took like over 400 orders for Mavericks for MY 22 with no allocation guidance at all from Ford. They had to carry over I believe around half of those orders to MY23.

LM took orders in MY 23 based on what they had orders for in MY 22 and because ford did tell them the carry overs would not account against their allocations for MY 22 they rightly believed they could take 600plus orders in MY 23.

It was after the order banks were closed that it was translated to LM that their allocations would come nowhere close to the orders that they had in MY 22 or even MY 23. Too late for all involved.

I would agree overall. Don't get me wrong, Tim is a fantastic guy that has done a tremendous amount for members of this forum and others and also done a ton of great work for Ford. But at the end of the day, all of this allocation junk is pure garbage for customer retail orders. IMO, LM customers are no better deserving to receive their vehicle than the guy/gal at the dealer serving customers in the middle of no where. Every customer deserves their fair shot in receiving their order regardless of how big or small the dealership is

Orders should be built based on order date regardless of dealer, taking constraints into account of course.

I agree to this totally. I live in the middle of nowhere and the small dealership i ordered with said they had 5 carryovers and i was the first day one order on the 15th of September with confirmation email. Xlt hybrid with hitch that i removed a month later. They still have not got any of their 23 orders and just got the last of their carry over 22 orders. This allocations system really screw us customers that dont live near big dealerships

Ok but let’s carry that on a little further and realize that LM allocations no matter the number have very little if any impact on the allocations of the majority of the members of this forum. You wouldn’t think that was the case with some who want to blame larger dealerships for their not getting a Maverick.
