Pulled into work this morning, put up my sunshade and went to crack the windows. When I went to crack the rear passenger window, I hit the button and the window went all the way down and now it won't go back up. (Since I work on a military base, I'm not too worried about theft right now.) When the dealership opens this morning, I will call for an appointment. My question is, has anyone seen or experienced this before, and if so, how can I get the window back up?

Numerous post about it, think most of time it’s a bad switch on drivers door. Search the forum and you can read details

I thought about that and tried rolling it up using the window switch on the rear pax door. No change. I'll search the forums again and see what I can find. Thank you.

The switches are electrically linked together so either one being bad can break functionality.

If the switch hasn't failed stuck closed and potentially burned up the motor then the dealer tech who looks at it should be able to power the window back up at least.

I think the issue with the drivers switch is that it shorts out and provides constant "down" signal to the rear window. So the drivers switch would be fighting the input from the passenger switch and at most would let you roll it back up but then see it immediately roll back down again all on its own. At least that's what I recall others had happen to them. I think it was usually the rear drivers window, not passenger. But same concept.

That's what I'm thinking. Trying to get a hold of the dealer now. The thing that I don't understand is when I released the switch, the window kept going down (XL trim only has the driver's window with the one touch down feature).

Cant believe they make XL buyers have power windows. If there is one part you know is going to fail on a vehicle its a power window. They never last.

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

No worries. Got it into the dealer at lunch, had it back by 3. They got the back window up and have the switch on order and should be here Friday.

Wichita Falls Ford, Lincoln's service department is just as good as sales. If you're in North Texas check them out if you're looking for a new car.
