Dealer trying to add "Pulse Braking"

I was told by another member here that thee same dealer I used forced them to add pulse brake light when he picked it up. I then told my salesman I don't want it. Think it's annoying on other cars. When I picked up my truck no mention of it. Took it in for an oil change, a few posters about it all over the dealership. Happy I got my truck with none of that bs. Msrp price protected very happy. Leo Kaytes Ford in NY dealer doc fee capped at $175. I was concerned about BS for 11 months and was pleasantly surprised.

Tell them you have epilepsy and seeing the flashing light reflecting the the bed might give you a seizuire. Then have them sign a document stating that they will be liable for any hospital fees or accidents resulting from the flashing light. Thanks for the advice, I'm concerned that if I refuse it then they might not sell me my Maverick, I initially told him I didn't want it, that's when he told me it's added to 100% of the inventory.

My understanding is that many states severely restrict if not outright prohibit people with epilepsy from driving. If that’s the case, not sure claiming to be an epileptic is a smart play here.

I went through the same ordeal and was told it was mandatory over the phone. I asked the sales manager to ask the owner and get back to me. He originally said that the owner insisted it's installed on every vehicle, even family members.

When I emailed him for confirmation that I wouldn't be able to purchase a custom order without it in writing, they said they would not include it. I think it's due to upcoming legislation that was brought up earlier.

It's utter nonsense and a waste of money. Just another form of snake oil for them to make money on. Their actual cost is likely less than $20.

What a rip off. You can buy the pulse modules on Amazon for less than $15. You can even buy brake light bulbs that have built in pulse. Just swap the bulb.

My Maverick just shipped, I went to the dealer to get a price breakdown, he told me they add "Pulse Braking" to 100% of the vehicles that come in, it's $600 and I don't want it. He makes it seem like it's non negotiable, what can I do? He's the General Sales Manager.

I'd hold my ground but I wouldn't walk away for 600 bucks, if he lumps on a bunch of other cr-- then maybe....
