Well, maybe with the 2024 model year coming up, there may be other options besides the Ford Maverick to choose from, Chevy, Ram, Toyota. And Hyundai may come out with a hybrid Santa Cruz.

Dealer doesn't tell customer their allocations vs. number of orders, then blames it on Ford when they take too many orders.
A new vehicle dealers only purpose is to take orders, and do the purchase paper work. It seems it would be the Ford Motor Company who is responsible for managing and prioritizing those orders, shipping those orders and making them available for purchase to those who ordered them. Dealers here don't talk about allocation and priorities, once ordered you're on your own. This mess is all on Ford. Come on Ford step up and take responsibility for this mess !!!! A little customer service would be nice, instead of the same old runaround!!

Since you ordered an EB, likely it is that your dealer has used up all allocations. Ford can build more EB than ordered, not the same for Hybrid. But if your dealer is telling you that you might not get your EB, it is likely your dealer lacks the allocation for the Ford Maverick.
allocations are determined monthly. dealer would have no idea how many they have for the total MY until they balance out production at the factory and stop selecting orders for production.

Dealers are the primary contact with customers. Information should flow freely from Ford through the dealer to the customer.

That's one of the reasons people have been so frustrated. I know someone who recently ordered a 2024 Mustang Dark Horse. The dealer told him they only have 10 allocations but his order is one of those 10. If that dealer took 30 Dark Horse orders and mentioned nothing about their allocations to the customers, many would be disappointed and angry at the end of the production year.

And I don't understand what the dealership has to gain taking orders they know won't get filled. They think maybe extra allocations will magically appear?

Transparency is a new concept to some dealers. This whole endeavor has been a real education for me to get my Maverick, and the next time I order from a Ford dealer, I will have several new questions to ask. Allocations will be a subject to be discussed. No answers will equal no sale and I'll head down the road to find a more transparent dealer.

I have ordered in April 2022 and again in September 2022 and all I get is from the dealer is we are waiting for a vin# from Ford. If I have to order again I will make a second order with a different dealer. That way I have double the chance of getting a Truck.
I'm sorry to say that it looks like you have a dealer who is NOT honest or doesn't know what they're doing, because the order bank was not opened in April.

When will Ford know which orders will be fulfilled and which will not?
They know right now, but they have to string us along to get us to reorder 2024 with all the new rate hikes, ETC. It's all about the money baby!!!! I've already ordered 2022, 2023 with still no vehicle, I won't be put back on the waiting list again!!! 550 days today

We placed an order at the local dealer, but they said the ordering portal was closed. This was about February. Said might get order placed in August.

Hoping Toyota will come out with their hybrid Stout in the meantime. If another outfit comes out with same size or smaller pickup in hybrid, I may jump to them. Got a 2005 Tacoma that is fine, and I can still drive it with my neuropathy. Fuel mileage is awful at 25-28 mpg.

I had more than a few dealers get my info in Jan/Feb 2022 and call up a week or so later saying they had some orders that "opened up." The dealer I went with straight-up told me that was a con to pay to be on a waiting list for orders when they actually open up, and they'd take my name (for free) and call me when orders opened up. They looped me in through the whole process, super great dealer.

I'm honestly torn on this situation. On one hand, I'm OK with being one of the last trucks to get built because I have brain surgery next month so I don't mind not having a new vehicle payment right now, on the other hand I'd like to get a truck at some point.

If Toyota had a hybrid Tacoma I'd buy that shit so fast.

My dealer told me that they do not know what their allocation is prior to the order banks opening. They also said that they have no clue about the percentages of hybrid vs Eco boost vs XL vs XLT vs Lariat will be. They notified me as soon as they learned that only 15% XLs would be built and there were 27% ordered so that I could switch to XLT. They only learned that their allotment would be 22 Mavs after they took in 30 orders. He said 17 have been scheduled (mine is one) and they have taken in 12 deliveries. The eight that will not get built were all hybrids. He has no idea how many they will be allotted next year. Soooo, some dealer do know and do share and sell for MSRP with out add-on BS without discussing.

Traffic. It used to be in the 70s-2000s they wanted foot traffic and they got us there with banners, balloons, DJs, etc. Now everything is digital. They just want customer names and info...and they get it.
