Fun fact, you can preprogram remote starts with the app.

Yep, same here. There are spots I go to in the Cascades where there is no cell service. In the winter, it's nice to remote start with the key fob. After losing all vehicle connectivity with our I/3 when ATTs 3G network went down, no way was I going to be ok with just an "app" but that's just me. Was loving Key Fob start last year when high elevation camping and just pushed the button in the middle of nowhere to get heated seat and cabin ready to warm my ass up![]()
Yep been to all those cascade spots as well. Probably moving back within a couple years -Yep, same here. There are spots I go to in the Cascades where there is no cell service. In the winter, it's nice to remote start with the key fob.
$300 CAD, which appears to have a bit of a markup over the current USD > CAD exchange rate, but I agree!$170 over the life of the vehicle for the ability to just lock and double click the key fob is a no brainer in my book. That Ford Pass app is okay for checking stuff, but the time delay for starting, unlocking and locking doors is unpredictable and sometime ridiculous. I remote start my vehicle almost every time I get in it. I am not waiting on that darn app.
This is what people don't seem to understand, the FOB has a limited range, when I'm getting ready to leave work in my office, I can start the truck and open all the doors, something the FOB can not do and it's free. The ford pass is kinda handy if you are out of range for the fob. Funny, a while back my son picked up my truck for me after some service and had it at his house an hour away. Just for kicks, I was able to start it from my house, lol
Im pretty sure you theres no other option but to have both FOB and Ford pass. I mean you have to have remote capability for Ford pass to work and would automatically then have a Fob. I think thats what the 1st thread was saying/asking??This is what people don't seem to understand, the FOB has a limited range, when I'm getting ready to leave work in my office, I can start the truck and open all the doors, something the FOB can not do and it's free.
Nope. I have, and use, Ford Pass, but no remote with the fob. That option was dropped with the lux pkg for 2023 and is an add-on.Im pretty sure you theres no other option but to have both FOB and Ford pass. Not all Key FOB have remote start, and to get it installed is about $300, since Ford Pass does it why spend the money////Im pretty sure you theres no other option but to have both FOB and Ford pass. The FOB does have a range limitation but I am sometimes shocked that it can work @ over two hundred feet away at times-This is what people don't seem to understand, the FOB has a limited range, when I'm getting ready to leave work in my office, I can start the truck and open all the doors, something the FOB can not do and it's free.
