Inside of the front fender right below the plastic XL or XLT badge. If these things are not magnetic, use something like alien tape right to the plastic badge.

I added my AirTag in the engine bay in a pelican AirTag holder.

I hide mine in the hitch mount with a hitch installed so that it doesn't fall out and nobody can take it. Also, I keep it outside for two reasons:
1) It will chirp if someone else is close to it revealing itself to the occupier (hence I put it outside so no one can hear it)
2) It relies on other iPhones' pings, so as it drives by other iPhones, it has a better chance of triangulating for a signal when it's outside.

Again, the AirTag will inform any iPhone in the vehicle that there is an AirTag traveling with them. I know this because I have one on my key ring and every time I am riding with a friend, their iPhone is notified of my AirTag. So, any thief with an iPhone will know it's there immediately due to the anti-stalking feature you cannot bypass.

And I doubt thieves are all Android users.

If it gets stolen, insurance pays for it. I don’t care what happens to it.
And you will then walk into your dealership and drive home in a new one, right? Easy peasy. Mavericks are a dime a dozen.

you can actually remove the speaker in the AirTag so it never beeps. That way it’s a silent alarm only trackable on your phone.

I did it with my electric bike and it worked like a charm.

here’s a video:

I'm not talking about the speaker. I'm talking about the wireless feature you relying on to tell you its exact location will also tell the thief with an iPhone it is there. This is an anti-stalking feature you cannot bypass.

Just my opinion, but after watching YouTube videos of what happens to stolen cars, I'm not sure I'd want it back in the first place. And the only increase in your insurance for stolen car claim would be that you'd lose any claim-free discounts you might have.

I realize that, but where I’m from no thief is checking that without a sound nor by the time I notice my bike is gone and I’ve found it.

didn’t say it was fool proof, but better than with the speaker and better than nothing at all for its extremely low cost.

there were also a change to the policy and notification system last year. You no longer get random notifications to your phone of random undiscovered devices that are AirTags, only AirPods and other devices.

I could be wrong, but I think they are being built without the Hotspot feature. Shouldn't affect modem and Ford Pass functionality.
That is correct... I noted that on delivery of mine. FordPass works just fine...

Is there anywhere you can slip it under the upholstery?

maybe just hide it somewhere behind the back seat.

if you really want to hide it, you could put it in something water proof, take out a bed cubby, and secure it to the top of it, then reinstall the cubby.
