After reading the "What's in your dash cubby hole?" post. I got to wondering about what people are keeping in the space behind the back seat. This is not the under seat storage, this is the area you fold the back seat forward to get to. The factory jack is here and if you have the option the sub is hear too. But there is space for other items.

Right now I just have the factory jack. But I may add some other emergency items.
I used to have a broom handle back there. But it had a tendency to get stuck lol my back seats are always flipped up so i dont generally put anything behind the seat backs. Maybe one day i’ll make a little cubby and mount it to the subwoofer bracket

Screwdriver, emergency multi tool, rarched screw and socket set, umbrella.

Strange how the back seat doesn't latch. When you brake hard it can come forward some which keeps me from putting things like fishing rods back there.
What? Lol it most certainly does latch…

We stow our four folding standup grocery bags there, two on each side.

I’m linking below to these GREAT ones that we got six years ago. Very sturdy. Fold flat, with built-in cloth-covered plastic bottoms so they stand open on their own like boxes to load. And they’re washable.

Highly recommend them for Maverick owners who take their trucks to the grocery. When folded flat they stow easily behind the back seat.

When filled, the four of them fit just perfectly across the back of the bed, between the tailgate and whatever you use for a divider in the first slot. (Under a tonneau, of course, so your bag of chips doesn’t go flying out of the bed in a gust of wind…)

I mounted a 1500 watt inverter behind the back seat. I think the bracket behind there is for the upgraded sound system I don't have, but it's a perfect location for my inverter. Very short run for the cables to the 12 volt battery under the seat.

You solved a problem I have and I haven't even got my truck yet. I was hoping there was something back there to mount my inverter to. Thanks. Have you tested it to 1500w yet?

I have a inexpensive Harbor Freight tool kit behind my back seat.

Did you need to do something to keep it from sliding around? Do you have a photo of it in the truck?

If I can fit a tool kit, a tow strap, and a jump starter pack that would be ideal. Things you need, but not very often.

I have bought many of those sets as a first time tool kit for many 11 to 14 year old boys here in Alamos Sonora. When I'm crossing the border into Mexico, I stop in Harbour Freight in Nogales (the US side) and I grab 5 or 6 of them and ask the manager if I can get a deal on them as I intend to gift them in Alamos. Normally, they will price them at $29 a piece for me. I'm due to do it again soon. I place all 5 or 6 of them behind or under my seat becuase I don't want tools visible.

Home Depot used to sell a better Husky Set for $89 that could be found on sale for $59 on occasion. They fit nicely behind a seat too... I brought about 4 of those down as gifts once too, but alas it's no longer available.
