This is really surprising because Ford is usually REALLY good about getting out the most accurate and up to date information! LOL

it is kinda accurate, 13.8 gallons and 14.3 with reserve. This is really surprising because Ford is usually REALLY good about getting out the most accurate and up to date information! LOL
There were some locked near me this summer. A large busy well known station. I bet they got them fixed quick. It had to be costing them plenty of money.I went to high school 63 years ago and one of my buddies worked for the state for many years verifying the metering of the gas pumps was accurate. Quite often he had to lock pumps until they were recalibrated. Was many years ago but probably still done
Sounds like the pump is rigged to overcharge. report to your counties weights and measures so they can check that station.Just filled up for the first time with 4 miles till empty. 14.6 gallons. 420 miles so 28.8 mpg vs computer saying 33mpg. Something seems off..I’m guessing it was the pump I used.
What's the mechanism that increases MPG through pressurized gas tank? Is it a better atomizing? So, there's actually a bunch of equipment in the gas tank of the hybrid, more than usual. It's in place to improve gas mileage. At least part of its function is to pressurize the tank. The problem is its eats up space.
As I recall, the actual tank size is in the 14 - 15 gallon range, but that equipment takes up space and it can't be totally submerged in fuel so the actual capacity is 13.8. This is why hybrid documentation is very insistent that you don't try to do a double fuel up to 'top off' the tank. Once the overflow trips the gas pumps auto-shut-off, stop.
EDIT: Oh, and 13.8 is correct as far as capacity goes. I ran this thing dry for my first fill-up and I only got 13.775 gallons in.

It helps keep the tank's atmosphere above the natural vapor pressure point of the gasoline so less of it evaporates. What's the mechanism that increases MPG through pressurized gas tank? Is it a better atomizing?

When I purchased my truck, we went to get fuel. I had 22 miles range remaining. She put over 14 gallons in the tank to fill.Oddly, the large Owner’s Manual states 13.8 gallons and the small Quick Reference Guide (which also came with my vehicle) states 14.3 gallons. Both manuals have a July 2021 published date on the back covers. Can anyone confirm which is correct?
Gpsman On another subject I see from the posted pics you have “trip2” my Maverick only shows “trip1”. Did you add this or was it already in your view settings? I’ve not been able to find it.MY HYBRID HAS A 16 gallon tank, and I'm so happy! The books / publications are wrong.
No laughing at the MPG. I was towing HEAVY with also 500 lbs. in the truck in the Sierra Mountains. Steep grades.
Notice the needle is at "about"
One-Fourth.

I pumped in 12.7 gallons to first click on automatic. 12.8'to second click. 12.9 to third click and I stopped.
One-fourth more (approx.) to 12 sure looks like 16!

At the tank before I put in 15 gallons, and I was NOT empty. I filled up just past MTE 0 and did not use up the hidden reserve. On a youtube a guy wanted to see how far he could drive on EV when he ran out of gas, so he ran out of gas on purpose. He went about a gallon worth of miles before running dry. So I'm confident there is a gallon usable past MTE 0.
16 gallon tank folks, in my July 2022 build anyway.
