Will the Hybrid really tow this weight?

Thanks! I ordered one with the intent of towing a 15 foot boat. It comes at 1400lbs or so. I hope no drastic issues up highway 50 in Ca.Yes...
how much does the trailer weigh? Thanks! I ordered one with the intent of towing a 15 foot boat. It comes at 1400lbs or so. I hope no drastic issues up highway 50 in Ca.
All of that equates to 1,044 pounds and you will certainly be well within limits. Those dual jet ski's with trailer in all the promo material weigh more than that.274lbs trailer, 595 boat, 175 for the outboard...
Thanks! I plan to be well below 2,000 for that reason. If I top out at 1300-1400 loaded trailer should be fine.Check the owners manual when it's finally available. Ford sometimes rates towing a little differently depending on altitude. The F-150 in some trims is rated at 10,000 pounds towing, but Ford states that you must adjust the maximum tow rating down 2% of total for each 1000 feet above sea level. That can add up if you are operating in the mountains. Not sure if the Maverick will follow this same formula, but wanted you to be aware of the possibility.
It looks like you have a perfect combination for towing by the hybrid Mav. Can you say more about your trailer, boat, and outboard?274lbs trailer, 595 boat, 175 for the outboard...
Yes, 15 foot fishing boat, 25HP motor, basic bunk trailer. Mainly going to lakes in Norcal, some elevation to 6,000-7,000 feet. I hope this works for the hybrid, if so this a great compromise over buying a Ranger or F150 with that low MPG's.It looks like you have a perfect combination for towing by the hybrid Mav. The more I think about this, I'm concerned. That rules out the Sierra Nevada's I can probably go to 5,000 feet or so. That cuts the tow cap in half!Check the owners manual when it's finally available. Ford sometimes rates towing a little differently depending on altitude. If the 2% per thousand feet applies to the Maverick, 5000 feet would be a reduction of 5*2=10% or a 200 pound reduction in towing, so max would be 1800 pounds towing at 5000 feet altitude. The more I think about this, I'm concerned. usually 2 guys, 250 and 170lbs I won't packing too much just fishing stuff and other stuffYou packing in? Or many occupants?
You'll want to calculate from the combined GCVR too. The Hybrid can do about 6000lb combined and the curb weight is about 3,700lb so 1,000lb towed leaves good amount of payload left but 2000lb only leaves room for 2 Average Americans.
Depending upon how much the electric motor contributes, it could be little to no difference in power. Electric motors will produce the same power at any elevation. The more I think about this, I'm concerned. That rules out the Sierra Nevada's I can probably go to 5,000 feet or so.
