On F150's, the adapter makes the PCM think a trailer is attached and disables AutoStart/Stop. Anyone tried this on a Mav yet?

I heard they stopped putting start stop in new vehicles due to the chip shortage. If that is the case why can't we remove the start/stop chip.

Just buy the auto start/stop eliminator and put it in. This allows you to activate the auto start stop if you desire it or turn it off and leave it off when you want to. I already bought one, and am waiting on mine to be built.

Plugging into the tow plug will stop the auto engine stop AND put it into Tow mode. At least it did on my F150 when I tried it. It also turned off the blind spot warning.

Hooking up a trailer turns off BLIS on the Maverick.

Anyone notice any appreciable loss in MPG while having the autostart/stop disabled?

Sport mode disables. Can also simply press the button each time you pile In?

I can't provide any hard comparison data on my MPG, but it is not really in dispute that the amount of gas that the injectors spray to start the truck is much less than the amount that the injectors spray when keeping the truck at idle (idling for longer than anything super short). I do cringe when my Auto Stop/Start kicks in when I am at a stop I know is going to be less than something like 5 seconds (only happens occasionally), but for the most part it seems to only kill my engine when at a more appropriate location like a long red light that I am going to be sitting at for 60+ seconds or more. Does it add up to a visible change in MPG over an entire tank? Not for me, but possibly for someone who does a ton of congested driving in urban areas where there are a TON of traffic lights.

See: https://afdc.energy.gov/files/u/publication/which_is_greener.pdf

"Idling for more than 10 seconds uses more fuel (Figure 3) and emits more CO2 than engine restarting."
