Sadly I have to report one of my fears in getting another "Part time AWD" vehicle- In reverse- the rear wheels don't engage much like my 2004 Honda element- Hence getting stuck twice in heavy/wet snow on Planet Hoth/West- UT yesterday- Fun snow stress test but the limitations are real -

Is the the Tremor able to engage the rear tires when in reverse ? Most of my complicated off-road involve situations in which I have to 6 point turn on narrow dirt roads.

The epic dig out and escape from Hoth was pretty damn amazing full throttle in Mud/Ruts for two miles thru snowmobile tracks was high adrenaline pumping- Glad I had the new hitch recovery D/ring shackle, tow rope, small recovery board (one broke) and compact shovel, zero degree bag, Food+Tequila :)

Wait, what? You're saying the intelligent AWD system is not so intelligent in reverse? No rear bias at all?

If we get some more snow, I need to see this.....

The Tremor has AWD lock, so I can't believe it would be this way?

Toss it in Sand Mode and it'll promote wheel spin. I think traction control also turns off. That usually gets me unstuck in snow (and if it doesn't, that's why I have recovery boards, soft shackles, and a bunch of straps lol).

Did you try different drive modes? TC off? I wouldn't think direction of travel would matter....WS sensors shouldn't care!

I activated Mud/ruts/Sand in reverse- Icon stayed illuminated but nothing really happened while in revere- Front wheels just dug deeper holes- Good thing the lift springs gave me another 1.8 inches in height - Blasted thru some seriously deep snow ruts and at least that part of the planet Hoth escape was impressive- Nothing like Utah red/clay when backloaded with wet snow- Its basically slippery AF mud like concrete when in accumulates and dries- Spent 20 minutes at the high wash station today. I got roped out once and after about two hours self-rescued the 2nd situation- Without the on-call $275 per hour tow guy or friend coming out in an F-350 from 2 hours away- Fun times.

Did you put it on the intelligent awd screen to see if it was putting power to the rear wheels?

All the videos I see say you have to take traction control off for any real difficult situations... did you happen to try that? Your picture does not look like it should have been stuck. Stock tires?

That is gnarly looking. Glad you were able to get out. I wouldn't be comfortable even with a Tremor Mav in those conditions. 4x4 and high clearance only. And even then only if you really needed something up there lol

Yes- I was cruising on mostly hard/pack some slop, puddles, crested a little hill and then went down a hill and was like holy-straight up planet Hoth all of sudden - Not like I had chance for a visual assessment and had to deal with the situation but I knew things like this can occur hence the gear I brought.

I really need to get me a set of traction boards…..that and learning to stop trying to get out without them before digging myself in too deep.
