Greetings,
Being that the Maverick share a lot of components from the Bronco Sport, Escape, and Focus. Has anyone attempted to install the Brembo brakes from the Focus RS?

Now, I have seen a thread on the Escape forum of someone doing it and everything bolted right up.

Just curious if anyone has done it or thought about doing it.

Lastly, before anyone starts commenting, "why do you need bigger brakes, it brakes just fine.." save it, I don't need your negativity.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Nothing to add other than just watch out for wheel clearance. May need 18" wheels at least? Maybe different offset as well? Not sure what the hot rod Focus had for wheels. Certainly would offer a much better look albeit at considerable cost. Good luck in your hunt.

The RS guys are running 17", but yes, offset and wheel design/specs plays a roll. They've done the leg work on that end.
👍

Brakes from C1-platform vehicles are not compatible on the Maverick knuckle without some kind of custom adapter bracket. The Brembo brakes from the Mach E have some potential to fit.
Any update? Have you been able to test fit the Mach-E brakes on the Maverick?!

I can confirm that Lawrence is in the process of releasing an adapter bracket to run the Focus Brembos on the front. The rears will be tricky due to the electric parking brake.

I was working on a complete front Wilwood BBK (brackets, rotors, calipers, pads, SS lines, and hardware) but the cost at over 3k didn’t make sense compared to Lawrence’s option. If at least 10 people committed then the price would come down.

Still, the number of people that would spend that money on for brakes for a 30k truck is very low. Especially like others have mentioned the stock brakes are pretty good as is. I personally still rather use the lower cost Brembos anyways.

I agree, $3k for a brake upgrade is not a top priority for many.
Looking forward to those brackets, I already have the calipers new in the box.

Eversince i bought aftermakert wheels i did feel a diference in stoping power . Meaning distance in braking over the stock wheels.

Go to the Facebook Fast Mavericks page. The first adapter was completed about a week ago. A list of interested buyers is being started

I put Mustang 4-piston Brembos on my 1991 ford ranger along with the 14 inch rotor. One thing people forget is how much the Brembos and rotors weigh. If I remember correctly the one piece 14 rotor weighs over 21 lbs itself.
I put disk brakes from a 95 mustang GT on the back. That truck would stop like you wouldn't believe.
Another concern is the balance from front to back. That can be fixed by installing an adjustable proportioning valve.

I've only had my maverick for a month, so I haven't looked into making a bracket to mount the Brembos. I do have a concern with the master cylinder size and ABS. I used a 1993 Cobra master cylinder on my Ranger.

And no I won't build a bracket for anyone. I'm too paranoid about liability.
I'm now handicapped and my mill needs some work before I start looking into an adapter.

And why do I need bigger brakes, some people can't leave their vehicles stock. AND it's that person's vehicle, let them modify their vehicle the way they want to.

No one asked for your opinion. Keep it to yourself.

I'll post pictures when I find them.
