I was looking for part numbers for the cabin air filter and found that the hybrid trucks may have an air filter that filters the battery system cooling?

can anyone confirm?

It is my understanding that the batteries are liquid cooled.
The reservoir is under the hood.

Do you have any more information of what you found?

The old Escape hybrids had air filters for the battery cooling.

Edit: Up until 2010 they used outside air, so a filter kept the leaves and bugs out. 2010-on models used cabin air instead; no filter.

Correct, as of 2020 Escape/Corsair, 2021 Maverick, the HVB is finally liquid cooled. Fusion, C-Max, and 2012 Escape hybrids were all air-cooled.

Used to be that only the inverter was on the low temp coolant loop but now the HVB is as well.

Will Ford parts give a picture? The OLD escape ones were about the size of a recipe card and I'd be able to recognize it on sight.

That's a cabin air filter, not for the hybrid powertrain. It's also not the right part for a Maverick. Your manual specifies FP-89 for the cabin air filter.

Looking that up redirects to FP100A.

Parts: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/f...abin-air-filter-15057523-1#/partMatched?pdp=y

Manual: https://www.fordservicecontent.com/...ingEnabled=False&userMarket=USA&buildtype=web
Also FYI, Rock Auto cross references the Maverick cabin air filter (FP-89 $35) as follows:
OE# JX6Z19N619BA (WIX- WP10019 or WP10019XP or Champ Labs CAF10059P)
K&N also makes this filter as VF3021 (Currently on Amazon for $41.98 with 20% off coupon)

$35 - 20k replacement interval? (I'm ordering the $35.71 lifetime K&N VF3021 from Amazon now).

Ones that use forced air for cooling.
And the air has to be filtered and clean? Air is air when it comes to cooling. It’s not like batteries have lungs in them.

Engines have air filters as well. Best not to have debris clogging the airflow, which would reduce the effectiveness of the cooling system, to say the nothing of any other potential issues.

I looked in the Ford parts catalog, no separate actual filter for the HVB, and using the Ford PTS Workshop manual, verified that the HVB is liquid cooled.
