Ahh, I see your from N.Y. James, ‘Splains it all!
Well, I'd quote my friends from Alberta on BC folks but this is about an air cleaner and would serve no purpose.

K&N goes in and the fuel air control system immediately see’s the extra air the filter passes.
It resets/ retards/ adjusts fuel air mixture right back to spec.
All while you fool yourself into believing you gained performance or economy.

And you might at first but only because your looking for it and driving a little smoother and your engine is breaking in.
You’ll think, those forum guys are idiots.

Keep your Hybrid stock and only use Motorcraft parts.

As for oil everyone is absolutely 100% positive their way is the best way.

Put in a K&N then go get a tune, you’ll gain some power at the cost of economy. If you can find a tune for the Mavbrid.

This is the way.

I use the K & N air filter in my '24 Eco Boost. Put a K & N 'do not replace' sticker on the air filter cover. Ford service has never bothered it or asked me about replacing the air filter. I drive in clean air only. Has saved me a little so far, but will save me more as time goes on.

Its a fact that K&N filters will not beat most quality paper filters when measuring partial size of filtration. But, is it good enough? I've run K&N filter in a '90 and '05 Taurus. Replaced the oil pan gasket on the '90 taurus at 260k miles. Cylinder walls showed minimal scoring. Zero oil usage between oil changes. '05 taurus pan gasket was replaced at 210k miles. Same results. Cleaned filter between 15k to 20k and used Pennzoil 10w-30, straight dino oil and Motorcraft FL-400S filter, from day one. Refresh kit lasted for years before requiring replacement degreaser and oil. Actually using an organic degreaser now, and Dawn dish liquid for the filter in a street bike (87k miles). Still using K&N filter oil in the aerosol can. Nothing scientific here, just actual experiences. When it comes time to replace the filter in the Maverick, I'll go with the K&N.

Oh ya??? What if I only drive in outer space? Whuddaya say now smarty pants?
🤓
In space: No airflow = No Dirt

K&N filters: To let more air through, you need to decrease filtration.

Maybe you should stack two paper filters together for double filtration.
