2.5 Hybrid KN Air Filter Number

If someone would please give me the KN air filter number for the 2.5 Hybrid if the make one . Searched our forum and found the 2.0 eco takes the 3131 does the 2.5 Hybrid take the same filter ?? Also any thought on the best oil filter seem alot of different recommendations on which is the best ?? Thank You All for this Help Your Mag Maverick

K&N? Why? An OEM air filter is your best bet.

When it comes to oil filters you will get many answers as to what people prefer. The Motorcraft FL-910S is a good filter and has the bypass valve at the base end instead of the dome end like most every other filter. Having the bypass valve at the base end ensures there will never be any crud picked up and flushed back into the engine when in the bypass mode.

Having said that, I do not use them because the inner core has louvers instead of holes. I have seen them where the louvers were not properly formed/open which would cause the filter to run in bypass mode, therefore not filtering the oil.

I make my oil filter choice based on construction, materials used and micron rating. My choice is either the Premium Guard PG241EX Extended Life, or the identical MicroGard MSL51348 Select Extended Life. Some people poo poo them because they are made in Viet Nam, which does not bother me.

Why would you intentionally let more contamination into the combustion chamber? Do you not want the engine to last long?

Use the OEM filter and replace it as recommended.

Regarding the oil filter, again you will never go wrong with the Purolator made OEM Motorcraft FL-910s or the larger capacity FL-400s. As mentioned above they do have louvers as most oil filters do now instead of stamped holes.

Personally I like Purolator filters, but also use the Wix made Napa Gold and is what I put on my truck a few weeks back.
