Wanted to see what you guys would change or not happy with on your maverick, maybe Ford is reading these posts.
My 3 biggest gripes are the key, I've had my truck 2 months now 1600 miles and got used to the dummy shifter But still get in the truck and put the seat belt on and realize the keys are in my pocket drives me crazy, come on now how many chips more would it take to make it keyless entry push button start My last 2/3 cars were keyless and it makes life so much easier.
The only other 2 gripes I have is the windows and having to use a cord for my phone, am so used to auto up and down on windows still hitting the switches and waiting for windows to go up or down, that should of been part of the lux package. Guys I have been driving for over 55 years and don't mind the maverick is a basic truck and wanted a 30k vehicle, Maverick fit the bill BUT theres a few things I think would of made a big difference. but why should Ford change anything there sold out and will be till someone comes out with another vehicle like it. Hey don't get me wrong these are minor and I will get used to putting my key in, holding the switches down and plugging my phone in. I love my Maverick.
Get rid of the present rotary shifter. I thought I'd get used to it but it hasn't happened. Perhaps if it only had stops for each gear instead of free wheeling around, it would be better.

Divert road debris from the tail lights. (Seriously Ford, how long have you been making automobiles?)

Larger inverter output. . . 1Kw constant at least.

Raise the seat belt away from the B pillar to make it easier to grab. Right now, the belt sits flat against the B pillar trim and is hard to get a hold of.

Option for outside bed boxes like the RAM box.

Integrate the keyless entry keypad into the B pillar like on other Ford products.

Have the drive mode remembered from the last time the truck was driven, or have a setting to allow the owner to set a default mode.

Since Ford is getting out of the GPS business and owners are using their own devices to fill in, I'd like a 12V and USB power port located on the top of the dash to avoid having power cord(S) cascading down the front.

A PHEV version.

Two bugaboos for me:

1. Push to start across all trims
2. Front and rear parking sensors as an option at least

agreed

front parking sensors would be huge - I can never seem to be close enough because the hood looks so big - then I get out and check and still have 3+ feet of room

I'd also like the side storage bins in the bed like dodge has and the under bed storage like the santa cruz has

fog lights and tow hooks on the hybrid as well

One of the reasons I didn't get an XLT was the HIDEOUS ORANGE ACCENT COLOR in the interior. I sat in an XLT when I was initially looking at the Maverick and was immediately put off by the orange accents. The Lariat, although not as pronounced, didn't look right with the brown color in the seats. The XL had simple cloth seats with black/gray that went well with the interior (IMO). (If you ordered a Tremor, then the orange is appropriate I guess).

FOG LIGHTS! They could easily add them to a package and recover the cost of them. It is beyond ridiculous that this vehicle doesn't come with fog lights.

I can get a stinking Fiesta with fog lights! I can get a stinking Ecosport with fog lights!

Maverick? Naaahh, take a hike.
I read somewhere on the forum that Ford was doing away with the fog lights since modern head lights have rendered the unnecessary.

• Better quality screen (brighter) and angled better for the driver. Cost? Maybe $20/unit?
• Would have preferred an all-black interior instead of the XLT mix of Navy, orange and various grays. I cant imagine it costs any more or less to make that change.
• Would have liked Adaptive Cruise and lane centering as part of CoPilot360 or as a standalone option.

Other than that, I think they're doing a good job of keeping the pice-to-features ratio in the sweet spot.

And for the record, I'm fine with the twist knob for the transmission and the dash cubbies don't make me need to call my therapist, as they seem to do for some people on here.

Yea, I'll have to echo the front parking sensors. I just can't seem to get a feel for how close I am when parking.

Better paint. Seems to scratch easy. Would like paddle shifters. AWD hybrid.

This. This. Then also this.

And, make the seatbelt pop up screen go away after a few seconds with no button pushing required. As a poster said in another thread - I've never had to push so many buttons before driving.

To keep a lower cost on the vehicle don't change anything. Just offer a AWD option for the Hybrid.

Add roof rail mounting channel hidden within the roof strips. With the bed being so short , it would be nice to be able to throw longer items on the roof.

Make something useful out of the cubby like a heated cup holder, analog clock or a power plug center.

Rear seat anchor points in the ceiling (like for adding cage dividers)

A power driver's seat option in the trims where it isn't standard.

I don't have a Maverick (yet) but a couple options I hope they add for '24.
  • AWD option on the Hybrid
  • Co Pilot 360+ (Adaptive Cruise/Lane Centering) option on the XLT
My Bronco Sport Big Bend offers the 360+ which is basically an XLT trim, same thing for the XLT equivalent trims on the Escape. So the fact that you have to step all the way up to a Lariat for several thousand more just for that option is extremely frustrating to me.
