What if you change engines or trims after this date on your order? Do you still get the original price or have to pay the extra?
You would lose price protection for changing the trim.

does this apply if the order was already invoiced?
So Ford says they will not re-invoice it meaning that the invoice will show the higher price but the customer is price protected from the price when they ordered.

I'll bet 95% of us will be paying the higher amount and there is no such thing as "price protection". It's really up to the dealer if they even will stand by their word to not charge over msrp. I'll be absolutely shocked if my dealer doesn't try to screw me over.

It will affect anyone that takes a Maverick that becomes available. They would not be price protected.
It also helps them to increase the price gradually throughout the year, so the 2024 price bump doesn't look as big.
It makes sense to bump the price when there are no orders being accepted. That will look much better next year, especially if they had to bump again.

Costs are increasing.

“Changing your trim wont change order date” - Ford

“covp isn’t required for price protection this year” - Ford

“we are way over hybrid capacity. Switch to an ecoboost” - Ford

“Remember that covp that wasn’t required? Remember when we told you to change trims/engines because we took too many orders and can’t run a basic piece of software in 2023? Yeah, pay us $500” - Ford

Just funny at this point.

If I have a preview order and a signed agreement with that order number then I’m ok?

Effective today, all trims had a price increase of $400 and Destination and Delivery increase of $100. You should be price protected by your dealer if they COVP'd your order. The person who ordered the vehicle needs to be the person who buys it to get price protection. I would request the DORA sheet from the time you ordered from your dealers. If they don't have it, they can be reprinted by the General Sales Manager or Inventory Manager.
If you already have your order in are you price protected on the msrp?

What's the difference between "invoiced" and "scheduled"?

I got scheduled last week, but no sticker yet.

My dealer said I'll be paying sticker.

So .... anyone at this point who decides to change from hybrid to EB, as Ford would like you to do, would have to pay the $500? Or not?

Anything at or above XLT barebone is already more expensive than the 2023 ranger
That’s true. I can’t imagine how much a barebones XLT hybrid is going to cost next year…
If my order doesn’t get built this year then i’m probably just going to get a tacoma, specially since they aren’t rolling orders over and offering price protection.

I'm getting a little deja vu from January 2022.
As if we weren't all already confused. As for deja vu, they're just prepping you for a wondrous transfer to a 2024 model.
