The EcoBoost tank isn't externally larger. The difference is the internal equipment for the hybrid's pressurized tank.
so different fuel pumps and pressures?

Not reasonable because of minimum gain? It would extend my range by about 100 miles. which means one more day.
Or, maybe get gas when you need it, and, as mentioned, carry a jerry can if you feel the need to have extra fuel onboard.

The Hybrid you can use/burn all 13.8 with about 1.5 to 2.0 gallons in reserve.

"Empty" isn't really empty.

"Empty" should be called "refuel soon" in this vehicle.

YMMV

My HYBRID Mav when actually run empty allows this much gas at refueling.

Like others said; all Mavericks have virtually the same tank.

Hybrid is already designed with these kind of tradeoffs in mind. Also as mentioned the tank is pressurized, which is a complication.

Not possible. And from the sounds of it, you shouldn't be wrenching on vehicles to begin with, especially when it comes to the fuel system.

not sure about "From the sound of it" Why the prejudice? you know absolutely nothing about me. It was just a question. Some people entertain the idea about such modifications. Have a good day!

Go for it I would, however I would wait until the warranty expires but that’s just me. I owned a F-250 which had space underneath in the bed area it was just time and modification and a bit fabrication but worked. I haven’t looked underneath the maverick but if there is space after the warranty I’ll add another tank why not maybe I could go 1000 miles per fill up. Go for it.

I posted the same question awhile back thinking it would be a straight exchange a la F150 26gl to 35gl.
The hybrid tank is 3x(?) more than EB so there is more to it than just capacity.
Now an extended range tank on EB might be a possibility 🤔
