Using the Maverick truck bed?

Never owned a truck. I am losing the trunk my present vehicle has has I'm inquiring about the truck bed and what are my options with regard to for example; groceries in bed things I pick up at home Depot or just general storage stuff that I kept in my trunk that I may want to stash in the truck bed
Plastic storage bins but wouldn't those move all around; some sort of netting thing?

I mean, there are a ton of different like net products or tie downs available for trucks to manage stuff in the bed

So there are a bunch of options. Few below, others can weigh in.

-For simple grocery runs put them on the back seat and floor boards.
-There is storage below the rear seat.
-There is small storage behind the rear seat. This is a great place for a tool roll, umbrella, etc.
-Bins in the bed are common. Strap them down so they don't slide.
-Tons of accessories for beds to strap, tie, organize a bed. This is especially helpful with a tonneau cover.
-A bed extender, when flipped inside the bed, works great to keep things from sliding. With the slots in the bed you can do that with wood in a Maverick as well.
-There are nets that can be strung standing vertical and hold things inside.
-There's a divider that goes into the bed rail system if you got one.

Trucks are flexible based upon imagination and a robust accessories market. Maverick one is growing all the time. There's a lot you can diy as well.

I have the Ford bed mat and some plastic bins. They don’t slide at all.

Everyone that posted have some great suggestions!! For me, I do as one poster does and put my groceries on the back seat and floorboards. On a Home Depot and Lowe’s trips to get lumber, I adjust the tailgate down, put the 2 x 4 x 8 studs in the back, and use ratcheting straps to hold them in place. Or sometimes I just keep the tailgate up.

I was riding an e-bike last year, and I’d keep the tailgate down, put the e-bike in the bed, and keep it in place with ratcheting straps. After having lumbar spinal surgery in November, and major cervical spine surgery at the beginning of January, my riding days are over.

So, I’ve had an aluminum tri-fold hard top tonneau cover since I bought my first Maverick on 26 Jan 22. I love it! Never had a leak. Locks in place when the tailgate is locked, and is easily removed if I need to. When I traded in my XL for an XLT, then the XLT for a Lariat, I kept the tonneau cover!

I occasionally would have a problem with some things I put in the bed that would tilt in the grooves and slide around. The fix was buying a carpeted bed mat. That evened the bed straight across.

I’ll post some pics so you can get an idea how I use the bed.

Don't forget you can also adjust the tailgate to a halfway up position. Did that when I recently purchased a new front door at a big box home improvement store. Was even able to keep the hard tri-fold tonneau cover fully closed while driving home.

I'd get urself a couple of ratchet straps and keep them under ur seat or possibly the little cubby in the bed... They are always nice to have a least a pair of them
