I probably should not have done this. My Mav, in Slippery, handled it like a champ. “Oh, my god.”

I seriously thought we would get stuck. You can tell by the “oh my gods” that we aren’t used to this! I gave my Mav a bunch of “good girl” taps on the steering wheel during that drive. It was nuts!

If I recall correctly, it's technically good up to the center of the wheels/the hubs. At least "officially". That assumes it isn't a river flowing perpendicular to your driving direction of course. That would most likely sweep you away.

This may be one of the first spiritual posts I’ve seen. Glad all are ok. I would be concerned also with my hybrid.

Oh my G-d! The battery pack under the truck scares me in those situations. After hurricane IAN and the explosion of fire caused by water logged EVs and Hybrids batteries I have been extra nervous.
But California is even worse than Texas having ones in a thousand years drought interrupted by ones in a thousand year flooding, way worse!!!

it's not just immersion/covering of parts that gets you, but water being sprayed up by the wheels onto other parts.

I had an "interesting" ride a couple of years ago in a minivan that I'd been lent to pick up my stranded wife & daughter. I had to circumnavigate several miles to get to them a half mile away, and by the time I got back, it was sputtering!

This Oregonian laughed way too hard at this. I drive through puddles like this intentionally to see how high I can splash the water. The OP's location explains everything.
