Out of curiosity, both the 4k tow package and the Tremor option have upgraded transmission coolers. Anyone know how they compare?

I seem to remember speculation that the Tremor had higher [corrected] gearing, the same as the 4K tow package.

If the coolers and gearing are the same, seemingly the only limitation (other than a different hitch and wiring) on heavier towing for the Tremor would be the smaller radiator in the Tremor that is used to increase front clearance angles.

Have you seen form Ford the radiator is in fact smaller?

It's been stated empirically that the Tremor is using the Bronco Sport Badlands radiator which is shorter to allow the more angled lower valence.

This was the conclusion I had as well. Same engine, same transmission, same brakes. It's the radiator. Possibly something in the shocks, but that doesn't seem like something that would create an issue.

To me the Tremor could handle 4k fine, if not for short hauls that wouldn't get the radiator and transmission Temps up. I also have some concerns over heat discharge of the Tremor in very hot climates not towing. That would be why FX4 got a radiator upgrade, but Tremor did not. That was honestly one reason I went FX4 vs Tremor, a good bit of my time off road is in very hot Texas summer.

Heat is a thing - Did some off-roading at about 8k feet in 80 degree temps - Extra Fan on the FX4 kicked in out of nowhere and was seriously noticeable - Wasn't towing - just light camping gear.

They haven't released the parts for 2023 models online yet from what I can see. Only option right now is to go to a local dealer with a Tremor build VIN and see if they can pull up a part number.

from Forbes Wheels

The Maverick’s (Tremor) ride is better than we remember in any Focus and entirely unperturbed by the Tremor’s aggressive tires, one-inch lift or the more pliable springs and shocks. A transmission oil cooler and tougher half shafts build upon the higher-capacity radiator, larger engine cooling fan and front tow hooks found in the FX4 Off-Road Package, which until now was the best Maverick for trail running.

Yeah that was my concern. Running around ranch roads, even without a load, in S TX 98+ degree weather... Would like the radiator of the FX4 / 4k. I will use that and potentially tow more than departure angles and a locking differential.

Try Phoenix with 60+ days a year over 110 and some reaching 120.

Only the 4K tow package gives you the higher final drive ratio. Tremor falls under standard ecoboost final drive ratio since it is rated for max of 2000 lbs towing.

Also the payload capacity is about 300 lbs less, 1200 lbs for a Tremor vs 1500 lbs standard.
Yes, I saw that data sheet also. Not sure if it definitely addresses the Tremor final drive ratio but certainly evidence of lower one.

The lower payload capacity is, I think, a function of the different shocks on the Tremor.

Has anyone seen the temp "gauge" show anything above 4 bars? I've never been able to get it above that on my FX4, even when driving like an absolute clown up a mountain in 80 degree weather.

I think it does, "3.63 standard/3.81 with 4K Trailer Tow Pkg"

In the Ford tracking website for my just scheduled (YEAH!) Tremor, it says it has an "upgraded drive ratio".

One of the most technical reviews of the Tremor says that it has a 3.81 final drive ratio.

https://www.theautopian.com/i-took-...emors-off-road-hardware-heres-what-i-learned/

The Bronco Sport Badlands with the same dual clutch mechanicals has a 3.81 final drive ratio.

https://media.ford.com/content/dam/...bronco-sport/2022-Bronco-Sport-Tech-Specs.pdf

The higher drive ratio might also account for the lesser than expected mpg of the Tremor.

I expect that numbers on the datasheet are merely evidence of Ford's inconsistency/incompetence in communications.
