When it comes to the AWD, Ford will likely always start with the Lariat as they cannot schedule any EB Lariats without the AWD. They just aren't going to leave the rest of the Lariat parts sitting in the warehouse to build a basic XL AWD.

Just like the standalone hitch, one-off add-ons will be a lower priority than anything that is included in a package because Ford has to sell the package as a complete whole and needs that one part included.
So, by that logic if I'm going to switch from hybrid XL to EB XL to stay in the game, but I dont want to give up XL or factory hitch, I should probably go AWD and 4K to add some package "weight" to tip the scale in my favor over Other XLs with lots of standalone options, yeah? If I have to spend more to compete, I'd rather get AWD and 4K for my money than XLT trim.

Just to add another "real world" example, I ordered the same day as a friend who lives near me. I got a Lariat with everything, he got a base XL. I waited about 285 days but he didn't get his for another 44 days. It was different dealers.

Hey everyone hope all went well for Christmas.I’ve come to the conclusion after going over email after email during the last week about builds/schedule that the company only cares about getting the big money builds out and not the XL’s which is what I ordered.so I expect to wait at least another 8 months but at least I’m getting sorry emails so I’m still in the queue.well enough of that. Everyone in MTC club have a great and safe New Year VP

I figured I would order a barebones veh and should have no problems being built my priority code is a 15 so as u stated patience tks VP
I did the same thing, ordering simple thinking it would be made faster. Now that I received my truck 12 months later I wish I would have ordered everything I wanted on it. I should have really added fx4 package and sliding rear window.

Agreed. XL hybrid then XL AWD 4K are the two best value propositions in my opinion. I have both on order. Now that being said they are both heavily constrained, so I wouldn’t expect it anytime soon but they are being built! Good luck!

This is not how it works in practice. Almost 60% of all Mavericks produced in 2023 will be XLT. Ford isn't just scheduling Lariats to begin the year and then moving on to XLT and XL once they've finished out Lariat orders......

Bit of an odd conclusion, considering many XLs have been built/shipped.
I’m sure that some have been built and shipped and looking at the numbers supplied by club members it’s a small number. But at least some are moving.I guess I’m impatient but who wouldn’t be to get a great truck!! VP

EB XL build timing will be influenced mostly by your dealer allocation, not constraints.

I don't think you need to reach that conclusion, Ford has come out and said as much.

1. They did not anticipate the demand for 2022 or 2023 hybrid drivetrains and XL trims - and they simply cannot or won't be able to meet the demand.

2. Where an order could not change drivetrain configuration - Ford has reversed course and allowed us to switch because XLs and Hybrids are so severely over ordered.

3. Ford never intended to build more than 15% of the trims as XL. With only 65% of the those trims being EB only 10% of planned 2023 Maverick production was ever going to be for an XL AWD.

Where as 38.25% of production is slated for XLT EB and 17% are Lariat EBs.

So there is some truth to the "Ford wants you to spend more" they aren't just pumping out fully trimmed Lariats and making everyone buy them. XLT is mid grade bread and butter and that is your best chance at a Maverick in 2023.

I think the light bulb came on at Ford during MY22, they lost alot of revenue opportunities with the XL, hence the low production percentage in MY23. Bump them up to higher trims to improve bottom line, IMO
Yeh more money in other trims esp with packages ,however some loyalty would be nice point for use first timers.😎😎

A real Problem is we don’t know what the dealership knows or should know not tell ,so we add, change ,delete and it hurts us like changing trimline, The allocations for yr/mo. Date of order , priority codes regional allocation ,someone said. , they May not know some of these things because of present environment, issues, but they know more than we know , I’m more than they’re coming.
I would look for a different dealing with those valuable allocations , Knowing what I know now. Life is still good😎
